different? as in one that completely lies down? That would be nice

Gee, thanks for pointing out the obvious, Chris....that teams match up differently and can look totally different one week to the next. I feel enlightened.

There is just no enjoying a Superbowl run. If your team is lucky enough to win, you enjoy it for only a bit before the grind starts up again. And no matter how amazing your run, the media is guaranteed to forget it almost instantly as they talk up the next greatest thing ever.

If the Pats win, I'm going to ignore the mediots and relive the season via my game recordings, in order  Nice, long, drawn out enjoyment, without distraction :D

Well, to be fair to Chris Collinsworth (pic related, it's his Glamour Shot pic)... we have the 73rd ranked defense... :bricks:

Well done Chris for telling us a teams form can fluctuate from week to week.

I'd never have guessed it.

Help me out here. Collinsworth clearly feels the Giants have a better chance at an upset than the Ravens. So it's not as if he's disrespecting the Patriots. He's just saying the Ravens played one way at home against a rookie 3rd stringer and will open it up against the Patriots. Seems like a pretty reasonable thing to say to me. Not earth-shattering but some of you are acting like he's disparaging your team.

Not really. Patriots fans take a cue from our fearless leader and loathe the media. It's par for the course round here.

go easy on collinsworth guys, he just said on NFLN that the Pats Offense has the edge over the Ravens D.

So the Ravens weren't trying to score against Houston because the Texans are a young team? Interesting. Seemed to me Flacco went downfield several times.

If their offense has a bad game, would it be called flacculance?

Your point about it being hard to enjoy it is an excellent one. It (enjoying) probably only can be done if your team is a long shot which wasn't expected to be there and has nothing to lose.

That's okay because the Ravens will be seeing a different Patriots team. :D

In other news, water is wet, oxygen has a higher concentration in the atmosphere at sea level, and Tom Jackson is still a moron.

And L.T. is the classiest player in the NFL!!! :bricks:

Exactly.

I don't know what the hell my "comPatriots" are complaining about.

The first thing out of Collinsworth's mouth was 'I think that's EASY, the NFC game is the one that has a better chance of being an upset'.

Then he goes on to qualify that by saying 'But stuff can happen and the Ravens may be able to make it interesting by mixing it up'.

Anyone actually LISTENING to that knows he obviously is taking New England.

Really, folks, words count. Listen again and comprehend.

It's so true isn't it? Because then basically you're agreeing that they have no shot but just enjoying the amazing ride.

Though I WILL say that I was severely irked after 2001 after several media comments on our 2001 run. My favorite was Tom Brady being Joe Montana without the talent. It's not an insult exactly but the spin the media puts on it is often so very annoying because they try so hard to stuff it into a predetermined narrative. And all I often want to do is read and revel in the wins. It's only enjoyable coming here for me anymore.

Ok, good. You heard what I heard then. Yeah I mean if you're the Ravens, on the road against the one seed, you're not just going to play it close to the vest. That won't get it done. But every game is different and it seemed like an awfully reasonable approach for the Houston game.

Yea the Ravens were just toying with the rookie Yates because winning in the playoffs against a team like the Texans is always a piece of cake.
