question about seats at Gillette this sunday

The Upper Corner, and Upper sideline, I was thinking about purchasing tickets for either of those two sections. Is it worth it? Will I be able to see the game clearly from sitting way up there? If so, which section would you recommend? Thanks

I've sat up in the corner before, although I can't remember which one it was. Our view was fine. Obviously not as good as being in the lower level, but I recall seeing everything clearly. In fact in some ways, the atmosphere up in the "bad" seats is more fun, since you sit with a lot more diehard fans.

I sit in the upper corner, section 325, and can see just fine. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing like watching on TV. When sitting up there you only have one angle all game, but that angle is one you don't get to see on TV. From the upper level you get to see the plays develop....it's almost like coach's film.

I don't go for the view though...I go for the atmosphere.

I definitely agree with this - but I think that pertains specifically to the middle sections of the upper level. The corner is a bit different, but still a good view and great atmosphere.

This is an interesting thread and thanks to those of you who posted the seat views.

Maybe it's a function of age or a 61" Plasma with kick-ass surround sound, but I wouldn't enjoy watching an NFL game from that distance anymore. I've always felt that way about baseball games (My dad played a lot of ball and so I grew up learning from him to watch for how a pitcher varied his speed and placed his pitches...we lived in an NL city and I got to see a lot of the greats as a kid, Aaron, Mays, Musial, Banks, Drysdale, Roberts, Koufax to name a few. When I got old enough to go to games on my own, I could never get into watching a guy the size of a toy soldier throwing what looks like a white dust speck towards home plate...means that now I only go to one or two games a season and shell out the money to sit between home and first/third a few rows up, getting ticked that daily access to the good seats near the field can now only be afforded by companies who give the tickets to folks who wouldn't know a slider from a fastball if they were even paying that much attention to the game).

I used to enjoy watching football (froze my butt off at the old Foxboro stadium) from a distance because you can watch plays unfold, but wide screens, contemporary camera angles and lens quality has changed that for me. I'm gonna bring my young kids up to Gillette next year (was planning to do it this year but the Lockout spooked me from making plans too far in advance) so they can say they saw Brady and Belichick before they retire and I'll end up shelling out more money than I want to think about to have them close enough to actually "see" their faces and maybe hear them.

One of the greatest experiences of my life: shelling out the cash to go watch the Jets and Patriots on MNF last year. Sure, the angles weren't as good, I was freezing my butt off, but I was part of the game. When Sanchize couldn't get his play calls worked out from the line, and he called a time out, that was because of me. When the Jests were driving and Spikes caught the interception at the Patriots 5 yard line, the collective ecstasy was amazing. To be with 200 guys yelling 'Jets Suck' is something that doesn't happen at home.

Oh, it didn't hurt that we destroyed them 45-3, and that Bruschi was there at halftime in a ceremony that they didn't show on TV.

It was SOOOOOOO much better than watching on TV. Comparison is like watching porn versus having sex. The latter takes more time, it is a bit more messy, the angles might not be quite as good. But come on, man: there is no comparison.

We need as many crazy loud fans this weekend as we can get. Go, young Skywalker, and bring the noise.

Does anybody know if the seats in the first row of a section like 131 or 111 (lower sideline) are obstructed (perhaps by players/equipment or maybe by just a lack of being able to see the entire width of the field)? I'm thinking of buying a set of tickets from a colleague, and it being the first row seems too good to be true!

I would prefer an upper sideline seat over a lower end zone. Not only is it cheaper, but you can see the entire field. The view from those 200 level seats must be amazing.

Some things to remember about the views at Gillette:

* You get a full view of the field regardless of where you're seated except for the first few rows of the lower bowl.
* The photos from places like Seat Data make the field look much farther away than in person.
* You always see much, much more at the game than on television. MUCH more. Bring binoculars, which come in handy especially for seeing what's happening on the sidelines and when a player goes down on the field.

The uppers are a little steeper pitch so if you need to stand because the person in front of you is standing it's easier to see the entire field.Not a big deal for most but my wife is only 5 feet tall.

For the price though, give me 200 level seats or even the first 7 (or 8) rows of the 300's (the lower tier) any day. I still think the best seats I've had were 331 first row. Get to watch the whole play unfold. Gotta love the ticketExchange, but now we're spoiled as when we get our season tickets we'll probably be in the corner 300's last row!

I like the seat Ocho Cinco has to watch the game. Without question he has the number one seat of any spectator of the game.

It's not even 'seeing more' but screaming until you lose your voice; high fiveing a great play; it's the adrenaline rush that starts the night before getting the tailgate ready, being with friends, sharing drink, good food. Even the anticipation of walking from the tailgate to the stadium. LOL before the snowbowl game there were 3 Raider fans dressed as Darth Vader. We gave them a ton a crap!. Then, there's the game itself .
Last Friday, we took our daughter back to NYC. We had already bought Broadway tix for Sat night and the custom is to shut off all phones when the curtain rises. Well, just prior, these two couples had their phones on n clearly were checking the NO/SF game. I inquired n they were Pats fans! Even though in a somewhat staid Broadway theater, we high fived (albeit subtly and to my wife's consternation) Our daughter liked it as she's a big Pat's fan and will at a Pats bar this Sunday!
