On Second Viewing: Gerard Warren = Beast Saturday Night

Looks like he's been dining with the Wilforks.

This is what I want to see this Sunday. An aggressive DL playing with energy. With the players we have now, a 3-4 gap control defense, is not the way to go against the Ravens. With Spikes being the downhill run blitzer because we need to limit Rice and Williams YPC.

fantastic video thanks!

I think the Pats have been playing awesome in the 3-4 lately. Wilfork, Warren and Love have all been beasts. I think you'll see a good dose of it against Baltimore. Stopping Ray Rice is on the top of BB's checklist.

************! That video really puts on display the absolute domination that was the Patriots on Saturday night.

Brady's footwork looks fantastic right now.

Holy Mother! Through the excitement of the game, I didn't appreciate how outstanding our D played. Tebow was harrassed all night, the pocket was collapsing quicker than a deck of cards, McGahee had nowhere to go, even the secondary covered well. I loved their swagger, smashmouth attitude, and confidence. They bring that back to the field on Sunday and Baltimore offense is going to have fits!

Fantastic video! Thanks for posting.

The entire D line played fantastic. I thought Ellis had a big impact as well. Of course Wilfork and Love as usual. I would really like to see more of the same this week.. two in a row could be a nice trend to bring to the Super Bowl.

I have been waiting all week for Trent Dilfer to come out with "the Patriots defense only forces effort sacks".

If the Patriots D collapses the pocket around Flacco like they did against Tebow, I look forward to seeing some more of those "effort sacks".

One of my favorite things during the game was when Warren sacked Tebow, Spikes came back to greet him, Warren busted out the Gator Chomp and Spikes followed suit, both laughing. Loved it.

The DL played with some fierce energy on Saturday. Lets bring that to the Ravens, their OL looked pathetic against Houston.

chills from that video...

is it sunday yet. man im fired up

It just so happens that I found Shaun Ellis' to-do list:

Blast through line and blow up play - check
Flush QB - check
Barely miss sack - check
Fall on face and roll a few yards - check
Jump up like you landed on a cactus - check
Pursue - check
Drill QB and get thunderous sack anyway - check

1. Brady. Out of this world, throwing bullets. I've never seen him more hyped up.

2. Gronk and Hernandez. My! Do those fellows love to run with the ball. Just great. (Though I still think Hernandez would have got the touchdown on the long run if he hadn't made the inside juke.)

3. D-line. Great explosion and power.

(4. Tebow. He's running around with receivers in front of him frantically waving their arms and no defender within yards of them. You run to buy time to pass. Until you learn that, you're a sitting duck.)

We have 3 first round picks on our D line. And another on IR that's a lot of potential talent and a lot of it was unleashed this season. Albert haynesworth didn't work out I still think he has improved the DL people had to step up to be as good as his natural ability allowed him. But hardworking is what makes you a pat and he wasn't that.

need to do it next sunday....all this pundits saying ravens got this game already

Pats play like they did last week and no way Ravens win....

No Turnovers and Do Your Job !

That's actually how he first caught my eye in the game: "Wow, is that Gerard Warren? Was he always so utterly massive?"

But regardless...keeping Warren & Ellis on the roster but largely off the field seems to be paying off now when it's all on the line. I guess they're in the "not as good as I once was, but as good once as I ever was" career stage. Glad to have them.

Part of me wonders if they've been taught to do that as to avoid a shot to the knees that Gronkowski was complaining about a while ago
