THIS year, he was comparable to Sanchez.

Sanchez: 26TD 18Int 3,474 yds 78.2 Rating
Flacco: 20TD 12 INT 3,610 yds 80.9 Rating

That's bad enough.

Which basically proves that Joe Flacco, in (statistically) his worst season, is still better than Sanchez in his best.

But to say he's below Sanchez? That's just completely absurd.

No, it's not. Someone asked me who I'd rather want on the Pats. I still say Sanchez, because I think his ceiling is higher. He also plays well in the playoffs, and Flacco routinely poops himself. I wouldn't be dancing in the aisle with my choice, but that's what I think.

Sanchez in his career has never completed 60% of his passes in a season, never had a YPC of higher than 6.7, never had a QB rating in the 80s, and most importantly throws just as many interceptions as he does TDs, but his "ceiling is higher"?

To each his own I guess.

The Ravens are a very good football team but have a mediocre QB. Wouldn't you agree?

Read my lips: "On the Pats." I'd rather have him ON THE PATS. Raven Flacco is better than Jets Sanchez. I think BB could do more with Sanchez ON THE PATS.

None of this changes the fact that Flacco's best is just slightly above average.

Sanchez is terrible. His team has tacitly acknowledged that with its offseason moves and statements.

He's a bottom tier QB. Whether or not he can get much better is really the only question.

All depends how you look at it.

In his 4 years as a starter, Flacco-led offenses have averaged about 24points a game which has been middle of the pack in the NFL.

Statistically, last year Flacco was in the top 10 in every major statistical category. TDs, yards, QB rating, comp.%, etc.

O-line and key departures slowed him a bit this year. Lee Evans being hurt did not help.

I think he did have some confidence issues this year, but on the other hand BAL has faced some tough defenses this year.

(2) CLE-#5 points allowed, #9 passer rating vs
(1) TN- #8 points allowed
(2) Pitt- #1 points allowed, #4 passer rating vs.
(2) CIN- #9 points allowed but #6 yards per rush.
(1) NYJ-#20 point allowed, #3 passer rating vs.
(2) HOU- #4 points allowed, #2 passer rating vs.
(1) JAX- #11 points allowed
(1) SF- #2 points allowed, #5 passer rating vs.
(1) SEA- #7 points allowed, #6 passer rating vs.

IMO, thats 13 of 17 games vs above average defenses that were good vs the pass. Some of those games he did well. Some not so well.

My point is that Flacco certainly is not an elite QB, but is above average and should not be overlooked. In the 2 reg season games vs NE hes averaged 262 yds passing, 65% comp % and 2 Tds.

He can be a threat, folks...

I love the smell of troll sarcasm in the morning, that desperation smell. It smells like... victory.

you'd have to be stupid to take the Ravens lightly. they're a better team than the Pats by nearly every metric. they went 7-0 against playoff teams this year for christs sake.

thankfully, neither Belichick nor Brady are stupid, and i can imagine (HOPE) they are throwing thunderbolts of perspective around that locker room this week.

ps a lot of fans of the Patriots are idiots, particularly on this board. its like they don't remember anything over the past few years. The pats do this, ALL THE TIME...they hang 50 on a subpar team and then can't score more than 20 against a solid defense. They're going to have to scratch and claw and hit HARD to beat Baltimore...and if I was a betting man I'd put money on Balt. As a Pats fan, I'm of course hoping for the best but let's just keep things in view here.

sunday cant come soon enough. christ

Just wait until tomorrow, Suggs will be on ESPN First take. Skip Bayless will get him to say something dumb because Suggs is too stupid.

I think he's inbred myself...

Remember the 2010 Pats who kicked a ton of playoff team ass in the regular season? How many playoff games did they win? What about the 2011 Packers? And the bold part...

I agree, they can't get ****y.

And you're the prime example of all of these things you just said.

Nice try.

EDIT: I'm not a homer. I'm still picking the Ravens to win this game, but that's mostly out of superstition. I can't really see either team having a huge advantage and I'm extremely nervous about Sunday.

Patriots have a better record and a much better offense, so I don't see the "nearly ever metric". Please explain...

Yes, I'd like to hear the explanation as well.

Ravens trolls are so ******ed that they give Jets trolls a run for their money.

If either one of those guys was one the Pats, I'd be rooting for him to be cut and replaced by someone else, so it's kind of a moot point IMO.

**** you mean, Nice Try. i grew up going to Pats games back when Foxoboro was bleacher seats

"by nearly every metric" was hyperbole but if you look at things objectively, I think that Baltimore has a strong case to make. they had the 3rd ranked defense in the league and beat every playoff team they played, every single time. i know we're all enamored of offense this year, but i don't think the "defense wins championships" maxim just went out the window this year. they played in a much harder division than the Patriots did this year and had a harder schedule. the fact of the matter is, the broncos were a horrible team this year and even though we're all happy we finally won a playoff game, it came against a .500 team with a below average quarterback. Flacco didn't play well yesterday but Houston's defense was not a joke. the pats struggle with good defenses, we've seen it a few times over the last few years.

im not saying baltimore is going to win, but anyone making plans for the SB are out of their skull. this is going to be a fight....it always is with these two teams even back to 07 when they almost ended the undefeated season. are you that much of a homer you can't acknowledge that Baltimore is a good team that got the 2 seed in a harder path and is in the AFCCG for a reason?

No one is taking the Ravens lightly, get that passive aggressive crap out of here.

lol and exactly what makes Terrell a thug? Because he's black, talks smack and wears his hat tilted slightly? I always assumed you had to commit crimes, or maybe those things actually are crimes:eek:

Because he's black? No. Because he talks a ton of smack and takes cheap shot at QBs' knees, yes. Take your race baiting somewhere else, dumbass.
