Looks like the Packers never learned from the Colts that if you rest key starters the last game of the season and have a bye week before your playoff game, those players could have one of their worst games of the season.

I do give the Giants some of the credit for Rodgers being so off, but he just threw a lot of bad throws today. He was definitely off. He is a guy who is usually still a good thrower on the run. Easily the worst game by him all year and I bet a lot of it had to do that he hasn't played in three weeks.

not to mention, I cant count how many dropped passes that wouldve gone for first downs there were...if those catches were made that could totally change the dynamics of the game.

This game reminded me of Patriots-Jets last year....team just never getting into a rhythm and playing like they are accustomed to

Agree. The Giants were clearly the better team today, but the Packers really shot themselves in the foot a lot with poor execution.

They should have never sat Rodgers the last regular season game. The rust in the Packers passing attack was evident. A lot of drops, sloppy routes, and timing miscues between QB and his WR/TE.

Also, the passing of their coach's son was a distraction, and who could blame the players if their minds were not totally focused on a red-hot New York team?

Ding Ding Ding! They played the best they could at the beginning of the season and peaked in the Giants game in Dec. Reminds me of the Pats in 2007 even though they were a better team than this Packers team. Although, I think the Pats would have won the SB if they actually lost to the Giants in the last game..Anyways, they were too overconfident, IMO. They just became ****y even after they lost the KC game like they had nothing to fix despite their obvious weaknesses.

what that game showed me is that, the loss to the chiefs did not temper that team. In fact I think they became more arrogant because of it, it seemed like after that loss they thought that meant they would win it all, since the loss was out of the way. I don't know how it was possible for them to come out as flat as they did against what was almost the guaranteed team they would face. Some of the gaps in that giants secondary would have been easily exploited early in the season by Rodgers.

The packers were rusty (and it showed), but i think the giants just match-up too well with the packers. Hell, they match up perfectly with us to.

Basically, I didn't even think the Giants D played all the great in the first half.. They were very fortunate for a lot drops to have happened. Anyways, I don't buy the fact they were distracted especially since they talked just as much as the Giants did all week.

Lets remember, the Packers D was HORRIBLE! They didn't learn or improve anything during the bye week...Now really who is the worst Pass D in the NFL?

Well, that Hail Mary pass was just ridiculous. There is no way that should have happened and the Packers have no one to blame but themselves.

And how many fumbles? Dropped passes?

Gints D guys will argue that the Packers receivers were afraid of their hits and hence had butter fingers.

Plus, with that fumble that wasn't correctly called, the ref's literally gave 7 pts to the Packers in the first half. So, doubt if the Gints D were 'very fortunate'.

Rodgers was off. He's human.

I said all year that this Packers dominance this year was smoke & mirrors and that they weren't really any better than any other team.

I pointed to their joke of a pass-defense schedule and the fact that Rodger's production was so heavily focused on a stretch of games against the worst of the worst of the league's pass Ds.

Of course, this observation was undermined by posters who wanted to appear more objective and unnecessarily give Rodgers props by comparing his season to Brady's 2007. Funny how that worked out, it ended the same way as the Patriots did anyway.

Bottom line is, there are 22 players on the field at all times. We probably give far too much credit to one or two of them and forget that so many other individual battles are going on. Any team can lose any Sunday.

The Packers were never that unbeatable this year and Rodgers was never head and shoulders above Brees or Brady.

Yes, exactly. Even walking off the field of that Chiefs game, you could practically read their minds through their body language. They all looked like they were thinking "One loss, big deal...we're still going to win this year regardless."

you know those are exactly the reason why BB keeped the whole offense playing in the blowout aginist the donkeys, because if you don't, stuff like the packers happen today. It's not about running up the score, its about keep your unit fresh and always alerted
