As you know, the Ravens blasted the Pats from the playoffs in 2009, launched by a Ray Rice 83-yard opening play TD run to a 33-14 victory.

Now, some will say the Ravens domination was substantially due to having stolen various Pats line calls and other scrimmage signals, but I won't go there in this thread.

Instead, let's talk REVENGE!

Do you want the Pats to blow out the Ravens to pay them back for the 2009 loss?

Disclaimer: I full acknowledge that the Ravens could win this game, but I also get the sense that a Pats blowout win is not at all impossible.

Considering that the Pats are going to have 17 different starters than they did in that game, I don't think revenge is their main focus.

Completely different players on our team! Gronk and Hernandez will be a handful for the ravens next week!

Don't forget Wes Welker too! He missed the 09 game.

On another note, the Ravens fans seem to think the Patriots have a weak O line

It has nothing to do with want. It WILL be a blow out.

You heard it here first!

Of course. Plus Welker. That's why I feel an opportunity to run up the score could present itself in this game.

Well, Houston does have a better O-line then us overall, no idea about which team's line is better at pass-blocking specifically.

That's funny, because Ravens fans love to say Brady is only good because HE HAS THE BEST PROTECTION EVER OMGZLOL

If it got to the stage where the score could be ran up, I'd take out every starter because the Ravens have players that aren't afraid of making cheap knee shots.

All I want if a Super Bowl and the Ravens are on the way!!! CRUSH THEM!!!!

Suggs and Ngata need to be contained and maybe use Gronk a bit more as a blocker next week! Ravens DB's arent great and we can move the ball no problem on them!

Absolutely correct, and that's the flip side of the "run-it up" discussion. If the Pats actually do start do blow the Ravens out, I have little doubt the hood rats on their defense would try to cripple one or more of the Pats offensive starters.

So if thats the case why do you make it sound like the pats can just blow the ravens out if they chose to. I don't think beating the ravens is going to be a piece of cake.

i'll put the over/under for ravens message board posts complaining about the refs at 5000.

The Ravens might be aging on D but I will not take this game as a blow out. I think it's going to be a nail biter, 21-17 but I wouldn't be mad if it turned out to be a blow out, :D...

Then kick the Giants azz in the SB. Revenge complete.

Although i voted no, cause i dont care about revenge i care about winning only. i have to say this: Revenge is a dish better served cold, in foxboro.

There's no reason to infer that the the thread implies beating the Ravens will be easy, especially given the disclaimer in the original post.

At the risk of being repetitive, one possibility in this game is that in the second half it could start to get away from the Ravens. For example, if the Pats are up by say 3 touchdowns late in the third or in the fourth, they'll need to decide whether to pour it on or kill the clock. They'll need to decide whether to leave the starters in or pull them.

The poll and the discussion thread are a way to gauge member sentiment on what to do in that specific circumstance, and in similar circumstances.

Early forecast is for temps in low 40s....I want blood, I want a blowout, I want Ray Lewis and his stupid f-n dance in jail, like he should have been years ago....GO PATS

Interesting thought. Beat the Ravens to make up for 09 then beat the Giants to make up for 07. Of course now that I said it, it will never happen :(

Current 75%/25% in favor of running up the score to repay the Ravens for the '09 playoff loss.
