That didn't look too good on the last play. He landed with all his weight on that left (?) knee. Good news for NE. Bad news for the Ravens.

Ed Reed

That looked bad...curious if he

A) Plays next week
B) Plays but not at 100%

We'll see. He was holding his foot as well. The coach or trainer he was talking to on the sidelines looked horrified, but that probably doesn't mean anything.

Re: Ed Reed

Reed looked fine for the few seconds they showed him after the game, he walked (without a limp as far as i saw) over to Andre Johnson and gave him a hug and laughed. Didn't see any pain or anyone helping him walk.

Who cares?

No one gave a hoot that the patriots defense was banged up all year.

Hope he isn't injured too seriously. I'd rather he's ok and plays against us than tore an ACL or something.

I never root for injuries but it would be nice to see him at less than 100%.

I'm only guessing, but this playoff run might be Reed's last hurrah. I would expect him to take the needle and be ready next week. He's as tough as they come.

He's only been around for 10 years or so, why would he call it quits? Reed isn't nearly as old as most people seem to think he is. Many DB's play into their late late 30's. Look at Bailey, Woodson, Harrison, (Rod) Woodson, Sanders, etc.

He is the heart of that secondary and D in general. If he is less than 100% it bodes well for us.

Has Ed Reed ever played at 100%?

Nobody is 100 percent this time of the year. Reed is well south of it. He was dinged up earlier in the game, too.

Ed Reed hasn't been 100% for 2 years now. Been going off of reputation lately IMO.

Still a very good player. Can the Pats have him? :D

Reed says he's just fine and will play next week.

We'll find out if he's hobbled soon enough, but there probably isn't much of a story here, he's been playing injured all year.

No story here.

And I have an ocean front property in New Mexico to sell you.

Reed rolled his ankle and couldn't put ANY weight on it for a good 3-4 minutes. There is as much of a chance as it ballooning on him overnight and there being an issue he doesn't feel right now as there is in him playing next week. And, with an injury like that, it's very easy to hurt it even more..

I edited my post to reflect that I didn't really think he looked okay, either. But I'd be shocked if he doesn't play in the AFC championship, hurt or not.

From the Ravens Message Board:

Re: Ed Reed
Aaron Wilson reporting on Twitter that Reed "just rolled his ankle"

In the replay it looked like he landed on his toe, broken toe or turf toe could be a real problem. Never wish an injury on anyone.

I'd be OK with it for one game....:)
