True. And a lot of the posters said, "They just flat-out whupped us." Still, it's much more entertaining to focus on the dumb.
Get a sense of humor, and we have a deal.
Sweet Christmas.
Yea, I only read a couple of threads (to relish in their anguish) but was surprised that a lot of them were either talking about how great a team the Patriots are, how BB is a hundred times smarter than Fox, or (as they should be) wondering what the hell to do about their QB situation next year.
BTW, anyone around here still think that your man McDaniels was smart for moving up to draft Tebow? I'd love to know if that was mainly Josh's call, or if it was Bowlen's or Xander's idea because it's clear now that Tebow will never be a legit QB in this pass-happy league.
We know that McDaniels' record of player evaluation has been abysmal for the most part, so the idea that he should be our future HC is laughable (unless BB stayed on as GM and was choosing the groceries ).
Actually, it's not clear at all, and your part about the evaluation is way off the mark, as well.
For some reason, I know alot of Steeler fans. They do not like the Patriots (if put under a lie detector, I would suspect mostly because they can't beat the Patriots in big time games, and because the Patriots have been winning at a high level for over a decade and counting).
However, they HATE/can't stand/loath the Baltimore Ravens with a passion!
If it's the Ravens @ the Patriots next week, many Steeler fans will be rooting for the Patriots, and I doubt there is another matchup in which that would happen. Then, in the Super Bowl they will largely be rooting against the Pats again. There is a chance we'll get some love from them if it's the Packers we play, because some Steeler fans will likely be rooting against any team wininng back-to-back titles. Just my two cents.
It's a completely useless stat. Every team we played until week 11 was .500 and above at the time we played them, and you know damn well that teams change significantly over the course of a season, anyway. The '07 Giants are a perfect example of why looking a team's final record doesn't tell you how good they're actually playing. So are the Dolphins and Broncos this year.Regular season.... It's a fact. There's no real need to run away from it. The Patriots did not beat a team that finished the regular season with a winning record. That will have to change moving forward, since both Houston and Baltimore finished the regular season with winning records, as did the Giants, Packers and 49ers.

It would be one thing if I felt this team hadn't been challenged by anyone in the regular season, like the 2010 Pats, but that's just not the case.
Are you kidding me? Demaryius Thomas is the only really good pick he made in two years. Then there's his "evaluation"/recommendations of Chad Jackson, Maroney, among others, while with the Pats.
As to Tebow, you are flat out wrong as well. I've seen him pass fairly well at times, and his receivers dropped a couple last night. Doesn't change the fact that the team you watch every week has shown twice now how easy it is for defenses to completely shut down that crap they play because he is so limited once they've seen it. If you can't see that a QB who can't throw down the field and can't make reads will never succeed as long as the current defensive contact rules are in place, I don't know what to tell you.
So much for their talk about the Pats not beating anyone w/ a winning record eh? Dummies.

Check out these numbers of a QBs first 3 postseason games:
19 for 42 227 yards
17 for 32 194 yards
14 for 31 137 yards
0-3 record
The QB? Peyton Manning. Judging quarterbacks off of one playoff game, particularly in the first year as a starter, is asinine. Tebow was certainly showing all the signs of being a "legit QB" when he lit up the Steelers last week.
I hadn't thought about that until now, but a Ravens - Pats AFCCG has got to be just about the worst possible nightmare for many Steeler fans. The nearest comparable thing would be for us to be watching a Jets-Steelers AFCCG, but I get the distinct impression that for most of them it would actually be far worse than that.
You know every Steeler fan around the world will be a huge Texans fan today.
