Media Should Back Off Of Tebow

Maybe this forum should back off Tebow. I'm sick of hearing and reading about him. Let's talk about the team that scored 45 points and won the game

How is the media going to ruin him? Man up and win games.

No one is questioning his philanthropic intentions. He's probably a great guy. He's an awful quarterback and should seriously consider changing positions. Be a halfback and give him a wildcat package. That's probably the extent of his ability.

The media totally will crap on him after building him up, it's all they do. Fattening the calf for the sacrifice.

But the Pats D ruined him first.

Maybe his point was that helping people is more important than a football game. Some football fans will never understand that.

no...some football fans don't get it that MOST football fans already KNOW this and don't need some Southern Baptist holy roller telling them ANYTHING about religion.

Tebow has nobody to blame but Favre ... it's his fault. Hopefully this loss will allow Tebow some room to get better and grow outside of the media vultures for a while.

When you get paid money and do a **** job you're going to hear about it. Welcome to real life.

Favre was actually good, and was fun in the media except for the last few years though

So don't listen if it makes you so angry.

How is he telling you about religion by mentioning that he felt good about helping a kid?
He can only affect you with his words if you allow him to.

When did Tebow start preaching religion?

why do we need to listen to a preacher on a sports channel? If I wanted to listen to that I'd go to church or at least listen to a televangelist

You don't have to listen to it. Tebow does not make you turn on your TV or Radio. You do it yourself.

Nantz and Simms were nauseating Tebowfiles down the stretch considering the performance this team including possibly the greatest QB to ever play the game and the worst defense in the history of the world had turned in all night long.

We get it. Everyone loves Tim 'cause he's such a good person and even though he won college championships and the Heisman he's an underdog because he never learned how to play the game at this level.

The media needs to get over themselves. Quit creating these storylines and then fighting tooth and nail to keep them viable. You mediots set him up to fail as you do so many between your pronouncements he'd never amount to anything and your insufferable insistance that he was somehow not only a season savior but the the new face of the position if not the league. He was a third string developmental QB who got thrown into the fray when nothing was working early on in a new administrations first season and his team rallied around him for all they were worth. But in the end backing into the playoffs and a division win and being overlooked by a beat up but arrogant as ever Steelers team was all it or his season amounted to. And it may or may not be all it ever amounts to.

What are you talking about?

Let me guess: Tebow makes certain people feel insecure about their daily lives?

Yea, he's a nice fellow, but whatever happened to just helping people anonymously? If anything, the fact that he broadcasts it so much makes me question his motives and authenticity.

Actually he has been doing this while he was in college also.....and gave his signing bonus (all of it) to his foundation to start building a childrens hospital in the Philippines.

Believing in Tim Tebow - ESPN

Too bad so many are cynical about someone being a nice person.

Just listened to his press conference. He called it a good day because he got to help a kid.
Its real hard not to like the guy.
It's too bad the media is so obsessed that their obsession makes people dislike him.

Yes, Tim Tebow is a good guy. But, why can't the media do their job and analyze the game as it should be analyzed? Tebow played a terrible game against the worst defense in the national football league and is clearly not an above average quarterback in the NFL. Heck, he may be not even be an average quarterback in the NFL. Why does the media need to coddle him and treat him differently than everyone else? I can't imagine how much the media would be hyping up Tebow if he did what Alex Smith did against the Saints. If he can get an insane amount of attention when he does well, then it is only fair to criticize him when he does not.

I like Tebow. But generally, holy rollers rub me the wrong way. It may be a New England thing? It really is not the culture here, I tend to distrust it.

The thing that stinks is, it really sets him up to be taken down, the media's specialty.

ESPN really has had a huge effect in overplaying this. They just routinely go for this crap rather than serious analysis.
I would love to see a few hours each week with coaches discussing things, viewing some "All 22" films, etc.

But instead, it is more like people magazine and sound bytes.
There is certainly enough depth to football to merit more serious analysis and time.

They will not back off though. After the game, the discussion was is Tebow the future, blah blah blah.
Not much on the guy who just threw 6 TDs.

Sports center, "SF has been tebowing for years, for blajh blah..
but first, Tim Tebow in Foxboro..."

It will never end until Tebow is busted with crack and a hooker.

BTW, I am aware of this passage for at LEAST 35 years before Tim Tebow was even born...I will go to church this morning and I give to charity when I am able...that is MY business and not anything I want YOU or anyone else to be bombarded with on all media outlets ad nauseum.

If the media is NOW piling on,that's ON HIM...deal with it.
