Lol too bad that might be gone too (they gave Cincy a 2013 conditional first or second rounder in the Palmer deal)

I'm fairly sure OAK coughing up the 2013 1 was contingent on Palmer making the playoffs, though I could be wrong.

You could absolutely be right. I don't know what that pick is conditioned on.

The impossible has happened: the Carson Palmer trade now looks even dumber than it did at the time.

Wow! That was faster than I figured it would be. I thought that he might reasonably expect another year to sort things out, but it seems the Al Davis machine is still pulling the levers of power after all.
The ghost of Al Davis does exist!!

They owe Cincy a #2 in the 2013 draft, the condition was it would have elevated to a #1 IF the Raiders made the AFCCG this year.

So they traded the #17 pick and next year's #2 for Carson Palmer. They also boondoogled another team to give a 5th in 2012 and a 6th in 2013 for a certain underachieving WR......

Great Blue North Draft Report

A 5 and a 6 when you have 2 1s and 2 2s <<<< a 1 and a 2 when you don't.

The good news is this should get Silver off his McDaniel's tangent. Hue must be one of his toadies...I mean sources...and he's been threatening to unload on the Raider's all day if Hue got canned just because a new GM was coming to town. Bedard reminded him that the same thing happened to Mike Sherman in GB, because while he was a good guy he was a guy Ted Thompson knew he couldn't work with and he wanted his guy McCarthy at the helm. Worked out pretty well for GB and they were a hot mess at the time and headed for a real bumpy ride ending the Favre era. Owners need to be patient on one level. But they also need to know you can't force bad matchups to work well together. JETS have been doing that for a decade now. Hue projected as a loose cannon in search of even more power to screw up and someone totally incapable of accountability. The longer you wait on that guy to develop, the worse it gets. Example, the 2011 JETS.

Oh man, I hope the Raiders don't get a better coach. Jackson was horrible. Who in their right mind would have traded for Calmer with all those picks? Maybe Mike Ditka.

"Hue" should've been fired just for the way he spelled his name.

Jackon puts all his eggs in the Carson Palmer basket, gets fired because of it.

Polians put all their eggs in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, get fired because of it.

Good.

Bozo Huey made a power play for more control in Oakland as he crapped all over their shot at the playoffs. More fodder for the correct thinking that he would not play well with the new GM. Baby Huey may well "beat feet" to become the Jets OC as he and Rex are sposed to be tight.

I wonder if the Rams will have a new challenge to get Fisher now.

Fisher on a team on the brink of a division title is a very good move....unfortunately this is the Raiders where coaching moves have been laughable.

i love watching the raiders destroy everything they build each offseason.

Wonder how the GM could fire the coach who engineered the "greatest trade in NFL history":D Big Al is not dead.
