Getting away from all the san diego trolls threads, what do you think about this game?

I like Baltimore and Peyton showed signs of his usual post season turnover flair, but if the Indy defense can stop jamall lewis like they stopped larry johnson, I do not think the baltimore offense will be able to keep pace with the indy offense.

Granted Baltimore has a great defense but as much as it PAINS me to say it, addai is coming on strong and peyton and co can run the score up enough to where mcnair and co can't keep pace.

Thoughts?

you have to think the good D the Colts played against a Herm Edwards coached team should be taken with a grain of salt.

I honestly think the Ravens come up with a win.

I know but larry johnson put up 120 yards on 23 carries against baltimore and was stopped cold this weekend 13 carries for 32 yards. 10 less carries but the chiefs had to go airborne to catch up to the colts offense.

If PM gives up 3 interceptions to that D, games over. Kudos to Indy in that win, but KC self destructed somewhat and made matters oh so bad. Ravens, by 4.

dude - i guess it all depends on which Colts D shows up, right? can they stop the run, or not? me, i think that the Ravens D will be too much for ole' payton and the boys, and then it will be up to one of us to knock the birds off their perch in 2 weeks...

This game hinges on how its called by the refs IMO. Baltimore is capable of abusing Indy physically. But if the officials are calling PI of PFs on every little touch then Indy could get some huge (but cheap) penalties which could turn a close game in their favor.

You, me, and 9 other guys would have a good chance of stopping the run, run, pass, punt game plan.

It's Herm.

Simple answer.

I'll be surprised if Dolts win.

I guess after Larry Johnson set the NFL record for carries in a season, he had absolutely nothing left in the tank....Not to mention that KC was more predictable in their playcalling than a high school coach's playcalling. Very sad to see indeed.

However, Indy will be playing outdoors and on the road against a very good defense. I think the Colts are going to have problems on both sides of the ball.

This is the way I feel about it. Two scenarios:

1. Baltimore is going to just destroy Indy. OR
2, Indy catches Baltimore half-asleep and dink and dunks their way with a long ball to Wayne.. just outscoring the Balt D.

I do admit that I lean towards 1 much more, but nothing surprises me anymore. I give the Indy D credit on the KC game, but even my brother knows that Josh McD has more decent playcalling in his pinky toe than KC had all day..

PS: I still can't believe Manning and Harrison have only hooked up twice in the playoffs. It's insanity.

i know iam in the minority but...colts quite easily...IMO
manning has played well against that defense and i think they can score 20+ on them and jamal lewis hasnt been that great this yr and moreover he runs north south so colts should be able to stop him somewhat

.... and then it will be up to one of us to knock the birds off their perch in 2 weeks...

Been a long time since
i really don't care
who wins an out-of-town game that affects our future.

The toughest game for the Patriots should be SanDi.
After that ... whomever we play on January 21st
will be easier than the Chargers.

(Which is not the same as "easy".)

I want the Colts to win, on the off chance we get the satisfaction of beating Indy again at Indy.

as for the indy-kc game, i give the Colts d very little credit for defeating maybe the worst playoff performance ever. they were daring the chiefs to pass, which they only attempted on 3rd and long with a qb who didn't deserve to be anywhere near a playoff game. anyone watching the game knew green had less than nothing. too bad their idiotic coach didn't.

that said, the d still accomplished that and dungy actually outcoached someone. peyton looked great other than the picks and the happy feet. ok, forget peyton looking great.

it's just a hunch but i'm with SVN and see indy walking all over baltimore. i have no faith in baltimore's offense, or baltimore in general. indy loses to good teams like the Pats and Steelers in the playoffs; not baltimore.

23 carries is a lot more then 13, for LJ.

I want Baltimore to win so I have a chance of going to the playoff game :p...

... Plus, I would rather play a ravens team then a psyched up colts team.

I am going back and forth on this one. I view this the same way I viewed the Cowboys Seachickens game. It will be close because Indy's defense sucks against the run, but one thing that has gone unnoticed is that Indy's d generally doesn't give up a ton of points. Baltimore's offense sucks and their defense is very good but this is the same team that lost to Cincy which is basically the Colts wannabee little sister. Obviously the Colts can put up points when Peyton plays well. But this will be an average scoring game and Peyton throws a pick or two.

I will give the nod to the home team in this one for a couple of reasons, but mostly because the Colts have played awful on the road since beating Denver and NE in back-to-back weeks. Dropping four in a row to the Boys, Titans, Jags and Texans. They have all been close (except for the Jags) and I think this one will be another close one.

Ravens 23
Colts 20

I've always felt that would finally be the game where the pundits give Brady his due over Manning. Light them up on their own turf. They can't use the grass,weather,referrees,bad-hair day. None of that crap as an excuse. That said. I expect the Ravens to win this week. I think the Colts D feeds off of the emotion of their home crowd. They were 9-0 at home this year. 4-4 on the road. Even struggled in their road wins; Us,Jets,Broncos and Giants. Could have just as easily lost any of those games. When their D has to play in an even game without the emotion of playing at home. They will be exposed.

again i may be in the minority but of the 3 afc teams left..i think indy is most difficult for us for the simple reason of familiarity..its like a div game except indy is better than the jets...i would rather take my chances with balt or san diego

Before you give the Ravens this game just remember that Peyton brought his team back from a 20+ deficit in the 4th quarter on monday night football back a few years ago from what was eventually the World Champions that Year and the team who had an outstanding defense at that..Those were the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers who I think had just as good a D as this years Ravens team so I think it will be a good one but can't go with McNair outscoring Indy no matter how many points Indy is allowed-No lead is safe with Manning,Even with a league leading top defense like Baltimore has.
