Don't Count Tom Brady Out for MVP
By: Christine Roy

Many football fans have Aaron Rodgers’ name already engraved on the league’s MVP trophy. If not Rodgers, Drew Brees probably tops their list. But don’t forget about Tom Brady. After all, he was named the AFC Player of the Month for December/January.

That’s back to back months for Brady. He was also awarded the honor for November, and he was named the AFC Player of the Week three times this season...

He didn't get a vote for All Pro from the same geniuses who vote the MVP. But that's OK because there is yet another MVP up for grabs and it's the one he prefers to contend for.

That would really be some sweet icing on the cake to see the Pats win the SB and to see Brady as the MVP of the SB. That would make the MVP award look like an after thought when Tom would have his 4th SB ring.

Remember that they only get one vote.

It'd be interesting to see what would happen if they got 3-player votes à la the MLB MVPs, but even then I suspect nearly every ballot would be Rodgers-Brees-Brady or Brees-Rodgers-Brady.

I'm sorry, but really? Count Tom Brady out. Really. Safe to do so.

Now for Superbowl MVP- we can hope!

People forget NE has been rebuilding the last 2 years. Why would he be considered MVP?

Tom in his last 2 seasons, 27 wins 5 losses.

Tom should be MVP just because he educated Ochocinco on how to become a team player, and Ocho didn't say crap after his worst performance on the field.

Came here just to 1 star this idiocy.
FAIL

Wait, hold on, did I read that right?

The argument for Brady getting MVP over Rodgers and Brees is that he won AFC Player of the Week and AFC Player of the Month multiple times!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

Hello!!!!MCFLY!!!!

Rodgers and Brees play in the other conference! Therefore, they were not competition for those awards, BUT they will be for MVP.

Not to mention I think Rodgers won it like 3 months in a row this year?

Can we put a patsfan article in the practice squad forum?

Brees had ALOT more weapons, great RB in sproles, and better OL than TFB. Rodgers also had MORE weapons and all day to throw! Brees played a majority of games in a DOME......and his stats are very exaggerated as a result. TFB had a decent OL but so many injuries to key personnel and need for rooks to fill in made it tough to get enough time to throw the ball. NE had a average at best running game. NE had TWO primary receivers and a late charge by Hernandez. Brady was THE reason why the Pats are in the playoffs this year. His ability to make adjustments and check off at the LOS is LEGENDARY......he really excelled this year! BRADY FOR MVP!!!!!!

I doubt Brady gets a single vote.

Brees' stats are exaggerated because he's stat boosting. He mostly gets all his stats on garbage defenses, in garbage time (Colts and Vikes games were long over when he continued to pack on 200+ more yds and tds) and in meaningless (the Carolina Panthers) games. He obviously wanted to stay waaaay ahead of Brady in season yardage when he decided to play that game, then the dome can be used as an excuse as well. Don't get me wrong, Brees is a very good QB, I've been saying he is better than Peyton Manning since 2007, but... the fact that he's got more yards this season than anybody shouldn't make him MVP. I'd pick him over Rodgers, but after watching Brady all December.... I'm gonna have to settle for Brady.

rodgers had 13 out of 15 games with 100 + qb rating, and i believe the highest ypa

less attempts than brady and brees by over 100 attempts in each case lol

rodgers got this one

The only way Brady wins the MVP is if some non-photoshopped pictures come out showing Brees and Rodgers shooting each other up with steroids.

Barring that miracle, Brady will probably finish a distant 3rd in the balloting.

How does Christine Roy have a job?

All these stats/award threads remind me of the pre-Red Sox World Series Champ days. My only comeback to the haters was that Yaz got the Triple Crown, Boggs got the batting title etc., etc, etc. All that's cool and inevitable with their talent but I'd trade all of that for a Superbowl win:rocker:

rodgers is going to win the MVP and i dont even think it will be close 14-1 as a starter 45 TD's in 15 games and a NFL record 122 passer rateing, yes Bress broke dan marino's record but with both Brady and Stafford going over 5000 Yards that record lost all of it's sexiness

TBH, at this point in time, I'd prefer a Ring and MVP in Indy to show Irsay who really is the GOAT!

Rodgers should and will win. Brady and Brees should be tied for 2nd
