Josh McDaniels might be in need of a gig.

I wonder if TB gets a bird dog fee every time one of the Pats OCs gets a job somewhere else??

Good luck to him. He's going to need it. There's going to be some lean years ahead in Happy Valley.

Brady has made Charlie, Josh, and now BOB look a lot smarter than they actually are

Has any other team lost as many coordinators as the Pats (3 offensive, 2 defensive)? Also the 4 who went onto head coaching gigs afterwards did not have much success.

O'Brien is going to have a tough time recruiting in the area with OSU and Urban Meyer leading the way.

How is it going to be a distraction? It wasn't in 2004 and Weis was a bigger name.

And Notre Dame was going through the biggest scandal in NCAA history. It's not so much the leaving part, it's where he is going to.

Not too surprised. Good for him. And good for the Patriots if you ask me. I just wonder how this will impact our Super Bowl run.

\.

Weis and Crennel were both leaving for good during the 2004 playoffs. I think Weis at least had been officially hired by ND not sure about Romeo, but he was obviously leaving. And it was probably our most impressive playoff performance. So I doubt this affects anything

PSU has a lot of nice shiny facilities and it's a big school with a lot to do. He'll be able to sell that.

But what he won't be able to control is negative recruiting from other coaches who will sit in a recruit's living room and ask his parents if they really want their son associated with that program. That will happen and it can't help O'Brien's cause. Sandusky's trial will dredge it up all over again, too.

Again why is it a distraction for the team? Other than SB media day asst coaches do not have to be made available to the speak. Also he will probably introduced tomorrow at PSU and then be back in NE. So he will not have to deal with the media about PSU until either the season ends or media day at the SB,

Hopefully BB doesn't try to do too much again in 2012. Name an OC and bring up or bring in a solid DC... no one can win it all by himself.

The inability to ask for help is a character flaw. Let's hope BB builds the coaching crew a bit.

I dont think BB takes too much on himself, looks like he lets the coaches coach and only steps in if he thinks something needs fixing.
The "he takes on too much" is a myth perpetrated by the talk show yoo haws

Buh Bye BoB

:bye2:

The timing seems poor. Even if he stays, I don't see him being completely focused on NE.

Whatever's going on in Happy Valley has nothing whatsoever to do with the Patriots

You can't hold two jobs in the NFL at the same time. Romeo's agent received the verbal offer within one minute of the Super bowl ending. Literally.

Weiss would have been hired years earlier in the NFL but the patriots post season runs went too late and other owners were anxious to get their staff in place.

They also changed the interview rules, which makes a difference.

I see, but Weis was already hired IIRC. And they knew they were losing Romeo, that's why the 3 embraced after winning SB39.

Yeah I remember Weis should've been hired at least a year earlier, we were lucky to have him around another year

You just don't get it, do you? BB has never run things by himself. That is a fallacy that so many fans and mediots have concocted. BB delegated plenty. Just because you fail to recognize it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

So you think he, Belly, and the players are only gonna be questioned about his new position when he's available to the media? OK.

Another day, another Patriots assistant coach hired elsewhere.
