God, our defense stinks......

That seals it.......Tomorrow,Sterling gets cut

I thought Moore played well on Sunday. At this point, I'll take any positives I can get out of this defense.

I can't remember a rookie, cut and resigned going into a game and not only playing but intercepting 2 balls to end the games outcome.

It was a fine performance by a player, who if you didn't realize it,was only a rookie who at the very least has this to look back on that game and smile if his career ends up short lasting.

Obviously, part of the secret plan. He will be Super Bowl MVP as our defense pitches a shutout..

I really really like how he plays. He's the only DB we have that actually sticks to his WR instead of giving him 10 yard cushions.

Like many here, I am obviously hoping to see more Sterling Moore in the next couple/few weeks.

I think many of us felt that he was quite an improvement at the position of safety, let alone cornerback. I think that says a lot about him and his coverage skills, enough that we've now seen 2 different positions and also different scenarios.

I was very impressed with those 2 picks on Sunday, and it appeared to me that he has good instincts and quick hands/abilities.

With the feeling that we will get a look of different looks in the secondary in base + subs, I think he has at least earned the right to get some more reps.

And right after that, Spikes gives a rendition of Bart Scott can't wait interview about next season.

TO ALL THE NON-BELIEVERS! TO ALL THE NON-BELIEVERS!" ,......

does he have more then a 1 year deal?

If he finishes the season with the Pats, it's a moot point; if his contract expires this year, he'd be an exclusive rights free agent.

[That said, the new CBA required three-year deals for UDFAs; I haven't looked to see what happens in a case like this.]

I'm not anywhere NEAR qualified to be an NFL talent evaluator. But I, like some, was curious as to why he was cut... He seemed at LEAST as competent as the other options even before his big game.

Moore was cut because Russ Ventrone was on the Practice Squad and Belichick needed to promote Ventrone to the active roster so he could cut Ventrone again. Capisce?

What we know is that whenever Belichick is feeling out of sorts and a little bloated, the only sure thing to make him feel better is to cut a Ventrone.

Sterling Moore was collateral damage.

Funny how one can be on and off the roster all year, and then BOOM get NFL Rookie of the Week. I sure hope his success continues. We're going to need him to play like that for this playoff run.

The mystery of Sterling Moore.

The only reason I can think of is his getting torched by Garcon on the double move.

If McCourty was cut and resigned later everytime he got burned against a WR this year,he would make Ventrone's aquisitions and departures look mild.

I wonder what the main difference between McCourty and Moore might be...?

Regardless, I'm not saying that's why I think he was cut. But that was the only particularly egregious play of his I can recall.

He was in the Raiders camp. The Raider fans I know were very high on him from his preseason performance and camp reports.

I hope they keep him at corner.

For everything that the Raiders suck at, they can sure identify secondary talent. Glad that he ended up here, for sure.

And yet they cut him from their practice squad. Go figure. :confused2:

Anyway...as much as BB has earned the "in BB we trust" mantra, when this whole board says "what on EARTH??" about a decision, we're often* on to something. The thread when Moore was cut a few weeks ago was a "what on EARTH??" extravaganza. So congrats to Moore on his breakout game, and a little pat on the back to the PatsFans community for wanting him -- even when the Patriots didn't. :)

*often, not always. cf. the "cut matt cassel" brigade of '08.
