98.5 just reported that big ben had a severe setback in Cleveland... What that means I'm not sure. But his status could mean a Patriots superbowl appearance.

Anyone have any news?

Your conclusion does not necessarily follow. The team whose match ups present great difficulty for the Patriots is the Ravens. Let's hope Flacco remains flaccid.

From what i heard on ESPN is his leg is hurting more than it was before the browns game, he seems to have aggrevated the injury in the 2nd half of the game

They now probably only have to beat 1 good team to get to the SB. if big ben was healthy there is no way they get to the superbowl by beating the ravens and steelers.

I heard he pissed down his leg again.

The guy is a prima donna, have you ever heard another QB talk about his injury status as much as him? Remember when he "broke his thumb" only to find out after taking x-rays that he really didn't?

And according to local media in Pitt he didn't start his limp until he walked past an ESPN crew.....

Tomlin is an idiot for playing him. Especially with the matchups that the Ravens had.

Exactly what i have been saying the past two weeks, When you know u r a sure lock for the playoffs why play ur QB and risk aggrevating the injruy,
Either Tomlin is dumb or Ben is worried that the backups will play better and take his place

The Pats are fully capable of beating both, and it's very possible. The Pats are 27 and 6 in the last two seasons. That is a team that is capable of beating both of those teams back to back. Would they lose potentially?? Sure they could, but lets not sell the Pats short as far as what they're capable of.

The Steelers are not really a good team at this point. Big ***** is hurt...Mendenhall just tore his ACL....the O-Line is garbage which compounds point 1....Woodley is hurt....and Harrison is not quite right....even Troy hasn't really done much this season, he's been steady but not the force he typically has been in the past.

And in addition the only way we would play the Steelers is if Pitt wins in Denver (which I expect to happen) and Houston beats Cincy. And I'm not really digging Houston this week for much of the same reasons as above. I think Cincy shuts down the Texans run game and forces Yates/Delhomme (ya that one) to beat them through the air with a limpy Johnson...no pun intended...:D

To avoid having to potentially go to Baltimore and New England to get to the SB?

And if Cincy had beaten Baltimore Sunday, which was entirely possible, given the results of the first meeting in Baltimore and Baltimore's tendancy to poop themselves on the road, coupled with a Pats loss would have given the Steelers the #1 seed. Its not as if he had nothing to play for. And given the injury situation getting the Bye and HFA maybe the only chance they had of making it to the SB.

Funny how it works: Before the Steelers game, the talk was all about how the Pats and Brady have OWNED the Steelers. Pitt throws some new wrinkles, pounds the Pats early — and NE still almost comes back — and everyone now thinks Pitt would win a rematch easily. Steelers really don't scare me.

Faking it as usual. He will be fine.

Omg, what a drama queen! do they have Anklewatch going 24/7 in Pittsburgh? Can you imagine these breathless updates happening to Brady's injuries? You don't know about the extent of any of them until the year is over.

Good to know Ben is soldiering on, warrior that he is. What a tool.

I don't think any of this matters.

Steelers OL is a mess, Ben can't move, Ryan Clark has sickle cell and can't play in the altitude, and this team nearly got their asses handed to them by the Browns with a backup QB.

I also see the Bengals beating the Texans, which, if that happens, we'll see the Ravens if we win, the Ravens should handle Pitt or Denver.

I only realistically see two teams good enough in the AFC to go to the SB this year, and thats Baltimore and New England. The rest of the AFC Field simply isn't on the same level (because of Big Bens injury, he is truly hurting his team).

Edit: Also, Ben isn't faking anything. He hasn't been able to move since he was injured and he has done nothing but hurt his team when playing. The only thing he is doing is talking himself up to seem like more of a warrior when he does play.

They will get mauled. Their mistake was playing that ace card in the regular season instead of saving it for the playoffs.

They are going to pull the same coverage, but this time we will be ready for that little trick.

The Steelers at this time are not a team that represents a real "threat" to beating the Pats at home. Can they beat us? Sure, any team can beat any team, but in order of difficulty for us I'd say:
Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Steelers, Broncos.

They way the Steelers beat us this year was keeping Brady off the field. With Mendenhall out and Roethlisberger hobbled, they likely would not have 40 minutes of possession in a game against us, in which case we would route them.

I'd just like a return to those good old early 21st century days when Belichick was the one pulling the "trick" to win big games. Since those halcyon days we've been the ones tricked if only for a game, e.g. the Phins Wildmeowser, last January's Jets and the Squealers just this season. This playoff run would be a great time to unveil something innovative to cover up the talent dearth on defense.

it doesn't matter who the pats play. what matters is how they play. they can beat anybody and could lose to anybody. if brady has time to throw they win. if a team can get pressure on him without blitzing they lose.
