You've been warned: nothing remotely important here. But hey, they don't play again for 2 more weeks, so...

1. Brian Hoyer completed 100% of his passes for an average of 22 yards per attempt. And Aaron Rodgers still ended up with a higher QB rating for the season.

2. With his average of 46 yards per catch, Matthew Slater led the AFC.

3. Stevan Ridley was the best rookie running back in the NFL this year. His 5.1 ypc led all rookies with > 60 carries, by a wide margin. (Oops, sorry was that too significant for this thread? Sorry!)

Feel free to chime in with additional pointlessness.

OK...how about THIS...the Jets played 16 games in 2011...

how's THAT for pointlessness?

Actually he was 2nd behind Demarco Murray

Some of them apparently quit and did not play all of the 16 games though

D'oh! Totally blipped over Murray!

But hey, that makes my stat as pointless as advertised! :p

7 & 12 are the two most retired numbers in the NFL. Each has been retired by 5 teams.

Only once in Brady's career has he had a season with an odd number of picks: 13 in 2009.

Brady has three times as many rushing touchdowns as Michael Vick in 2011.

In terms of yards this was Tom Brady's third best improvement over the previous season, he threw for 1335 more yards this year than last year. The only years that showed a better improvement were 2001 when he threw 2837 more yards than the prior year and 2009 when the threw for a shocking 4322 yards than the prior year.

Danny Woodhead had more pass receptions than Chad Ochocinco. Who would've thunk that at the season's beginning?

This year Bill Belichick had his first 13 win season as a head coach.

He now has had seasons with 5,6,7,9,10,11,12,13,14 & 16 wins.

He has not had seasons with 0,1,2,3,4,8, or 15 wins.

I'll take a 15, but I don't think any true Patriots fan would be happy with any of the others. :)

If we went 8-8 and won the superbowl I would not be unhappy. Of course plenty of this board would find reason to complain.

This is only the second year Tom Brady has thrown an odd number of TD passes (all other years it has been an even number)

Twenty four players on the roster went undrafted.

List of RBs to maintain 5.0 YPC or greater with at least 80 Rushes:

Sproles
Fred Jackson
DeMarco Murray
McFadden
DeAngelo Williams
Ben Tate
Jonathan Stewart
CJ Spiller
Pierre Thomas
Stephen Ridley
Reggie Bush

Hmmm. Pretty good company.

Tom Brady rushed for 109 yards. The Super Bowl takes place February 5th which is the 36th day of the year. The Mayans predicted 2012 would be the end of the world.
2012 times 109 divided by 36 is 6092 which is EXACTLY how many yards Brady would've thrown for if he played in a dome.

Wilfork has the same number of interceptions as McCourty and has more interception return yardage.

I like this one. Unbelievable.

I heard that McCourty gave up more passing yards than any player in a season since CB defense stats were tabulated (unofficial stat). Pretty sad.
