They were talking about Tony Romo's botched snap and why the NFL uses different balls for kicking. He proceeded to say that it was to keep kickers from booming kickoffs out of the endzone then went on to say that it hasn't helped since kickers like Olindo Mare and Adam Vinatieri are still kicking them out of the endzone. What the...

Adam has trouble reaching the endzone. If he gets it past the 5 you call it a good kick.

Well, maybe it's a little different in the playoffs.

I mean, not to ruin a good theory or anything, but AV had 5 kickoffs in the playoffs, and not one of them was outside the 5 yardline. In fact, his only "bad" kickoff was one that took a squirrly bounce at the 3 and went out of bounds for a penalty.

His kickoffs were:

1. -1 yard line. Result: Touchback.

2. -4 yard line. Result: 25 yard return to the 21.

3. -2 yard line. Result: 23 yard return to 21, but penalty back to the 17.

4. 3 yard line. Result: OOB

5. 0 yard line. Result: 18 yard return to the 18 yard line.

Those are some pretty good kick offs to a pretty good return man.

He was also kicking indoors...part of the reason he went to Indy. It will be interesting to see how he does in Baltimore because his kickoffs were atrocious here.

No. Theisman said if Charlie Weiss quits Notre Dame that Joe would kick his own balls out of the endzone.
