A moment of silence for the Jets meltdown (merged LOL)

Rex Ryan's latest: "My team is so good that it's going to win the Super Bowl without being in the Playoffs."

ugh, just read on espn that josh mcdaniels is a top candiate for OC job at the Jets. (other top choice is norv turner). don't these former pats know what a dump of an organization the jets are?

Eh, there is a big difference between wanting something and actually being able to get it. They may be interested, but unless it's the only offer McDaniels gets, I doubt he would take it.

I want a billion dollars. I am, however, refraining from purchasing my first private jet for now.

Re: JEST meltdown to begin in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1

Rexy and the jesters* are now, officially:

The Insane Clown Posse:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yeah, but I'd take the Jugaloos over the JETS fans any day. More mature, better educated, articulate, etc. :D

I can't help but laugh at the jets hahaha. Jets boards must be a mess right now..

I am going to reiterate my prediction from earlier this month: Rex Ryan will NOT be coaching the JETS next year. You can talk about Schotty and Sancheze and Holmes, LadyT, etc. Fine. Go for it.

The problem that the JETS have is that for 3 years now, and especially this year, Ryan's mouth has been writing checks his team can't cash. It's old shtick, and the NY press is tired of hearing it too.

The JETS are still trying to sell PSL's to help pay their share of the new stadium. Those aren't selling well. They need a winning season or three to boost sales and revenue, and having a clown as the head coach isn't cutting it. Bad PR, especially from the local press in a market as large as NY/NJ can kill sales, and the JETS just can't afford that sort of thing.

Tanny and the rest of Ownership/FO staff are going to have to do some serious soul-searching about the whole coach/player situation, and I'd put up a box of Dunkin Munchkins that Rex is going to be shown the door.

I'm not even going to visit that toxic place just now. No telling what you might catch. :D

BTW, for those thinking that the JETS might help their situation by firing Schottenheimer, just remember that earlier this year the JESTS rewarded him with a contract extension through 2013. Thus, they'd be on the hook for two year's salary, even if he went to another team.

Those idiots on that cesspool JI, deserve nothing more than this. Watching the Jets Pepsi commercial as I type this. Less time doing that **** and you may have a team that can win a SB.

Rex Ryan will be validating parking vouchers at a parking garage near you in the not to distant future.

Re: A moment of silence for the Jets metltdown (merged LOL)

IMO, Rex convinced Woody during his interview that he'd be able to sell PSLs, get the Jets on the back cover of the NY papers more often than the Giants, and win the SB. I think Woody was (and is) more concerned about the PSLs than anything else.

Nice thread in JI about personnel changes and cap space. Holmes was given a $45M contract this year, with $24M guaranteed. Better news for Patriots fans is that in a move to get more cap space this year, Tanny guaranteed the 2012 salaries for Bart Scott ($6M) and Calvin Pace ($7.4M).

My moments of silence last about a second in between bursts of laughter.... it all started yesterday in the SRO section by the big screen end zone!

A great day to be alive!!

Mixed feelings.
Would have loved to play this years jets in the first playoff game.:D

Take the 2 RS wins and scrape the Pests off your shoe; good enough! :D

Funny how Rex's war cry was for other teams other than themselves to step up and beat us so they would have a shot at the division. How did that work out?

They really sucked this year and the mayhem in that last game was enough to dismantle that franchise. I can't imagine a Patriot being so bold in the press like I've seen these bozo's the last 2 days.

It all starts with the coach. Sure Rex was funny and a breath of fresh air for the press who gave a lot to talk about in the media. But he sounds like a stupid dumbass when he's losing. And the players who we brought in were a reflection of the type of team he wanted to be portrayed. Aggressive trash talking players who were better athletes than the majority at their position. It's too bad he forgot about discipline, heart and above all else being professional. The last word I still don't think he knows the meaning of.

Jets in full meltdown mode today!

Kinda funny. LT goes to Jets indicating they are a class team, and calls out Patriots as classless just as their coach (2007). Yet, Jets has a HC that is "I am not a loser" and "didnt know" why Holmes was benched; a WR that is a captain, and quits on team; and a LB, BartScott, that gives the "finger" at the press, after the 8-8 season...

go figure...

And the good times keep on rolling for the Jests:

Jets have a tough decision to make on Holmes | ProFootballTalk

Bart Scott waves goodbye with one finger | ProFootballTalk

But keep talking up those DB's you employ, Rex. Keep Schotty and Sanchez, maybe do another season of Hard Knocks, plaster "Soon To Be Champs" all over the NY skyline to really grab those tabloid headlines! You gotta prove you're not the Same Old Jets, Rex!

I am hoping for full Carnival Barker mode from Rex (yes, I think he can get louder and more obnoxious), and maybe 3 Hail LaDanian The Classy's. Get crackin, Woody...those PSL's aren't selling themselves!
