Interesting compilation of SB History. Patriots are sprinkled throughout, of course. For Best Games, Pats have the Number 1 and Number 5 games.

Of course the 2001 SB was the sweetest.

In the clutch plays... I would have added...

J.R. Redmond getting the first down and having the inclination to know he had to get out of bounds, gave it the extra effort, and that was the play, IMO, that allowed to Pats to maintain control and win Super Bowl XXXVI on Adam's field goal.
If he doesnt get out of bounds, that game probably would have gone to overtime, and who knows, everything that followed in all these years, may never have happened.

Agree, JR came up big on that drive. That play was huge, especially the lunge at the end to get the ball OOB before his knees were down.

I would have had Tom Brady's performance in SB38 in the top five. 354 yards, set a SB record for most completions, and led TWO 4th quarter comebacks when the team was behind or the score was tied.

Other than that, I think the author did a good job.

Yes! It was SB 25 that gave me hope going into SB 36. In fact, as a game, I still think SB 25 was the best. The drama of the Giants offensive game plan vs the quick strike game plan of the Bills, and both teams played it well. The Bills scored 19 points in 19 minutes. And it went up and down the field until the very end.

think of this too. Had Norwoods kick been good, Levy would have been the genius, Norwood would have been Vinatieri, Kelly would have been Brady, and most important to the Patriots, maybe Parcells isnt the same level of genius that gets hired in New England and eventually brings in Belichick.

Or, without that hope of Parcells and what was to come maybe Kraft doesnt even buy the team. Who knows? The Patriots may end up in St.Louis. Maybe Belichick never gets here. No Patriot dynasty.

So thank Scott Norwood for missing, what was actually not an easy kick to make.

Norwood gets a bad rap, IMO. He missed a FG that would have won the game, sure, but it was a FORTY-SEVEN YARDER! There are no gimmes from that distance, and he missed it by a foot.

There were probably 50 other plays in that game where, if one of the Bills had executed just a little better, the kick would never have been necessary.

Norwood gets too much blame, Vinitieri gets too much credit. Just one mans opinion, and off-topic to be sure.

I do not know why Pats/Rams is #1. I did not think it was really well-played although it was a great upset (#2 is about right). I might have put the Pats/Panthers higher than that game.

I think that's a good point but is more of an "and" than a "but", if that makes any sense.

It's a good list the only thing I disagree with is the Most impressive Super Bowl defensive performance. Why is Buccaneers no. 2 with the 48 to 21 win. Oakland nearly came back in that game because of some poor defensive lapses. I would think that the Dolphins in SB 7 and the Steelers in SB 9 both far more impressive. Neither gave up an offensive touchdown.

What the heck ever happened to Redmond? I honestly can't remember why we cut him - was it the emergence of Faulk, who is basically the same player?

It may be up there because of the fantastic finish/exciting fourth quarter qualities. The #3 game on the list, Rams - Titans, was actually boring with the Rams leading 16 - 0 until seconds to go in the third quarter. I've seen that game as #1 on some lists.

One other thing though, the Patriots have helped make super bowl games much more exciting as a whole. They used to have a rep for being very boring, whereas all three of ours have been very exciting. Hope we see a fourth one (win) this year for the red white and blue.
