On Mike and Mike they played a bite from Dilfer saying:

(paraphrasing)

This is one of the few #1 seeds hes ever seen that he cant picture to get to the superbowl.

He's lost for words at how they get here.

Cant put finger on it/Mind is boggled.

They're not good enough team to get to superbowl.

They get down by a lot vs bad teams and now will play another team who will go for jugular and put this team away.

Finally, he wont be surprised if another one and done playoffs.

Sooo how quickly can BB and the gang use this to fuel the team? :p

(I know it's playoff time and there should be no need for 'extra motivation' but can't hurt right?)

he cant understand it because he was never a good a nuff QB to help he team win he's job was always hand to ball off and dont turn it over so the defense can win, so watching the pats win without a great running game or defense he cant understand it.... as far can BB use it as "Bulletin Board Material" no im not sure anyone cares with Dilfer thinks i know BB dose not

He's an analyst and he's giving his opinion. I really don't have a problem with it.

Remember what Tom Jackson said about Belichick in 2001. His opinion obviously didn't matter, and neither does Dilfers.

I just hope Dilfer doesn't try to talk to Belichick if we happen to go to the superbowl and win it. We all read in Patriot Reign how much BB hated Tom Jackson and probably still does to this day. He doesn't forget these things and its a small world in the NFL.

Anyone who reads these forums would see the same sentiment from Patriots fans, I don't know why it's a surprise that someone else would say it?

I found Dilfer's opinion strange given he made every excuse under the sun for Tony Romo's inability to play clutch football. He picks and chooses what opinions suit him.

From some of the Patriots Fans, I do not need to be pinched to believe.

thinks he knows everything there is to know about quarterbacking. If BB put his words on the board I'd expect a bunch of rolled eyes.

k trent, whatever you say:rolleyes:

Next who cares..Just another talking head.

I don't either, but it's crazy to say that Dilfer has some kind of outlandish opinion.

Though I wonder if he has the same opinion of the Packers, who have an equally poor defense and tougher competition in their bracket. New Orleans could put up 70 on them.

it was 2003, right after BB released Milloy and they lost to the Bills 31-0, not 2001.

He is vying for the Rex Ryan award.

I agree with him. For a #1 seed, we seem to have a glaring weakness in the secondary. Of course, with Chung back and the latest scramble lineup maybe we fix it in time, I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe some people here think we can spot top teams three touchdowns every game, i don't.

I do think the rest of our defense has taken a bad rap, our front seven is talented and deep and has played well together. Still, without a functioning secondary we're not going anywhere and commentators are supposed to report what they see.

he's describing pretty much the entire afc

what afc team doesn't have big flaws?

ravens and pitt suck on the road and pitt has mounting injury problems

denver has a qb who sucks but a good defense, but they're turning the ball over alot lately

cincy looked good early on but not great, but now they have injury issues and are faltering

houston is down to their third string qb

and ne has one of the worst defenses in the nfl but at least they're able to make halftime adjustments lately

there's so many flaws in the afc

in the nfc you've got a schizophrenic giants team

a falcons team who isn't the same on the road as at home

a saints team who could lose to the likes of a rams or seahawks when least expected

a gb team with an atrocious defense

a lions team whose qb falls apart when he can't get into a rhythm

and a 49ers team who is relying on a great D and alex smith ....alex smith!

there's no real standout here, the packers are awesome and 15-1 but that D can't withstand any hiccups from their O

I don't think this team is the type of team that gets fired up by what people say in the media. Last year before our playoff game against the Jets, their guys talked trash all week and provided a plethora of bulletin board material and we came out and played like POS. If these guys couldn't get fired up after the smack talk the Jets spewed all week, Dilfer's little rant won't even register.

The Baltimore and Pittsburgh offenses are worse than our defense.

The reality is none of the other five offenses in the AFC tournament are even close to Buffalo.

Would Trent have been happier with yeserday's scoring being better spaced out.

Mike and Mike were wondering how Denver can score on Pittsburgh.

How is Pittsburgh going to score on Denver?

Both of those offenses flat out suck.

The issue is Dilfer's hypocrisy. He's picked the Packers to win the NFC and endorsed their inferior defense compared to the Patriots, despite eerily similar performances by the offenses and defenses.

Would anybody care about Dilfer if he didn't win a SuperBowl? It's the playoffs, the regular season means nothing now, all of the 12 teams are 0-0 right now.

That means we didn't replace both our corners and spot the other team three touchdowns yesterday? Great, i feel a lot better now.

I just wonder why no one mentions this about Green Bay.

This D played well once we got out of the vanilla scheme to start out.

Keep in mind (this is reality talking, not angry reaction), Dilfer is a known supporter of Sanchez. Seriously. The spoon fed QB.

Need I say more?
