Living in Texas, I don't see people wearing Patriots shirts very often. So when I see them, I usually strike up a conversation. During last season, while at the store, I met the future sister-in-law of Vollmer. On Saturday, I met his future mother-in-law. As she was walking away, I commented that it had been a tough season for him. She said, "Yeah, he's probably done for the season." She noticed someone she knew and started talking so I obviously didn't want to be a jerk and push her for more info.

Take it for what it's worth. I would guess he's said something or her daughter. If he maybe doubts he'll be back, we probably shouldn't get our hopes up.

Whose hopes are up? PatJew wrote him off weeks ago.

Zero surprise. He was on crutches recently. We should have enough OL depth to withstand it. Just need to keep Light, Solder and Cannon healthy, and get Mankins back.

It is a blow, but I like the way Solder and Cannon are playing these past few weeks, so it will likely not be that harsh.

Mankins is the one we need back for the divisional round.

and I got some inside info on Brady, my friend works for him, but if I posted it here, no one would believe it, soooo... ya.

If this is true, why isn't he on IR, so we can bring up another special teamer?

She did say "probably" not definately so there must be a chance he could come back, we'll find out soon.

Please don't tell us he moisturizes...

Back injuries are annoying.

i dont recall this being a prob last season, so hopefully hell be good as new for next year

Yes. He injured it back in the preseason vs the Lions. Game back in week 3 I believe and re injured it again. Got injured again vs the Steelers. Has not played yet since then.

Must be the team thinks he has a chance to be back, even if for one or two games. Otherwise, with all the other roster moves and the shortages at many positions, he would have been put on IR.

Fortunately he is on a position that has ALOT of deep talent now.

Wendell and Connolly are 2 of those lower depth guys I am thankful we have

Not really. Neither of those guys can play OT.
It's Light LT Solder RT, backup LT and Cannon as a backup RT.

As much as that would suck (as any injury to a starter does). This is one area I'm not particularly worried about at the moment. As has been said. We are DEEP with talent on the line and we have the best o-line coach in the business.

We do need Mankins back for the divisional round though.

True, but what you didn't think of is because of guys like Wendell and Connolly moving into positions inside, you CAN move around those guys you mentioned and not lose alot of productivity.

That's true. If Light goes down, Mankins moves to LT and Conn or Wendell is the LG.

I think Guard is our best line depth. Then the OT depth and finally Center. Though I think Center depth has more since it's one guy and Connelly, McDonald and Wendell can play the spot.

our O-line has taken more hits this season than our db's....and that is saying something

But thanks to Dante, the hits have not been all that noticable..

I guess we can see why people in the public eye have to be guarded in what they or their family say to anyone. For all they know a chance remark to a polite stranger could end up on a Message Board with their relationship to the person of concern clearly described. It's all quite legal, especially in the 24/7 "anything goes" internet age, but I wonder if the people who made those remarks knew that they were going to be publicized.
