We should all be very..very nervous come playoffs..not sure after the past 3 weeks...we can even win one

If they don't win a playoff game this year...it is going to hurt them mentally...and bad

Ive come to peace with the fact that we could easily be 1 and done. I really hope next season we have a faster more athletic defense.

Depends on who we are playing.

The Bills are honestly one of the worst matchups for us, honestly. Lots of short passes that keep our offense off the field, that our defense gives up in spades.

TJ Yates will not have as much success. Terrified of pretty much anyone else though.

I did some counting up last week, and came to the conclusion that, of the 30 or so defensive players you have in camp, who you actually think could play next year (i.e. not just camp bodies), there should only be 13 back from this current team.

That means you need to find, in free agency and the draft, 17 defensive players who you genuinely think could play on D next year.

Of those 17, in order to have a simply "league average" defense, you need to find 6 new starters (2 CB's, 1 S, 2 LB's, 1 DL) who are "league average"

The chances of that happening are somewhere in the 5-10% range, (you'll maybe find 1 league average rookie starter from the draft, if you're lucky, and we're not going to spend $80m on D in free agency to get the other 5 players) so, in reality, this defense is going to be bad for at least another 12 months.

Oh, and we're one and done in the playoffs this year

i can see a pats jets match up...with the way the pats play...would not be thrilled..just look at today..against the bills LOL

i have come to terms with being 1 and done as well...D is worse that last year and brady and the pats don't play well in the playoffs anymore

This has been the year of breaking streaks. I'm hoping that includes our playoff streak as well.

don't hold your breath....this team is not built for the playoffs..anything can happen..but i don't see how we can be favorites vs any AFC team that comes here in the playoffs

Not really that nervous cause I've already excepted that this team is soft, the defense is horrendous, they're offense is one-dimensional and predictable at times, and they'll be one and done as usual.

They'll get down early and lose

for those who come in saying they aren't nervous because the pats will do what they did today if they fall behind..that doesn't happen against good teams

hopefully they get their asses chewed out up until that playoff game

Not at all. This is the most battle-tested Pats team since 2003. Prepare to have your miserable existence momentarily brightened, trolls.

So i am curious..if the pats fall behind say 17 to balt or pitt...you think it will be as easy to come back from like it was today against the bills? Serious question. I know we all want to be positive but we can all agree: Falling behind 21 against the bills is a lot different than falling behind pitt and balt..teams with good D's

Now that this has happened 2 games in a row...we all hope it doesn't happen again..but you just don't know with this D

Aside from Scar and Pepper, none of the main Patriot assistants have won a NFL playoff game. O'Brien is 0-2, and Patricia presided over the worst statistical defense (by yardage) in a generation.

with moore...maybe none of us have to be nervous?

Not at all. This team has IT.

I don't expect this team to come out flat against a Balt or Pitts, but even if it happens and they get behind, they will keep fighting and will be confident they can win. That distinguishes them from recent Patriot teams. Of course, in a single elimination you're always nervous, but this team has a special mental toughness that should make you confident.

it all comes down to slow starts. I don't think they can overcome a slow start in the playoffs. the offense needs to get their stuff together in the first quarter as well as the defense to have any chance.

that's definitely a positive, they have gone through alot of adversity, they aren't front runners by far.

This team has as good of a shot as any to make the SB. I am ready for the playoffs.

The Bills gave Pats nation confidence today, but it's probably not warranted.

Teams in the playoffs won't bench their best receiver, throw 4 picks & fold like the Bills did.
