Apologies if this has been covered here already, just got back from Gillette: Replay of play where Mankins got hurt looks like possible MCL in his left leg. Apparently Light did something to an ankle during warmups. Any updates? Thanks.

Well knowing BB we won't have any updates till Wednesday... But looked to me like Mankins got his ankle rolled up on, (not to the degree Roethleswhatever had last week). I think Light was close to going so I think he could be back next week.

It was reported that Mankins wanted to go back in the game, and the Patriots wouldn't let him. Don't know if that means anything, but sounds like it can't be too bad.

Do you think it's worth the risk of bringing Light back next week? I'd rather rest him for the playoffs. I hope both of these guys get healed quickly. They're both key players we're going to need for World War III in January.

If they can have one of Light, Mankins, or Volmer back for next week, the line should be OK.

I was 10 rows behind the Patriots bench and Mankins definitely wanted to go back in. I didn't think he looked hurt at all so hopefully it's just precautionary.

We need as much of the starting OL as we can get for the playoffs. If the OL is healthy, we are making the SB... BOOK IT

Same guy drooling over Aaron Rodgers

Yeah, but lets face it. Mankins is a nasty SOB. If his leg were snapped in two, he'd still want to go back in there.

I hope he's fine, but I'll feel better when he's practicing again.

I'm not sure I follow your logic. We've had issues with protection for the last few months. Not to mention our D hasn't stopped anyone.

worst 12-3 EVER!

I'm sick of it...I'm gonna be a Jet fan so I can feel good again...they have Revis!!!! and he wins championships...just like Rex Ryan's defense...

I was the one suggesting the trading of Mankins WAYYY back before the 2010 draft. If he is prized for his versatility why did he last only a half at LT? Why didnt anyone notice Thomas at LG??? Cuz its the perfect place to hide a JAG!! Give it up to Dante for getting these guys playin but anyone aynting to pay Mankins that kind of money has to have their head examined. If Thomas can play it would make sense to rest both Light and Mankins but this might well push the Vollmer to IR decision to get another body on the roster for next week.

Because everyone lasts a long time when a 300+ pound guy rolls up on your ankle. It had a lot less to do with his position and a lot more to do with a fat guy rolling on his leg.

Gonna go out on a short limb and say you're an idiot.

So what you are saying in Mankins whole career he hasnt had his ankle rolled up on before at G?? I'm gonna say he was likely caught a bit out of position for it to happen rather than pure chance but if you are into name calling, tag, your an idiot.

I would hope Mankins injury is not too severe, and that he will be healthy for the playoffs, and that Light and/or Vollmer will be back for the season finale against Buffalo.

If not, however, then it may be a good opportunity to get Solder and Cannon some more first-string experience in an important game to lock up the number one seed... With any luck, all of the o-lineman who are nursing injuries can come back for the divisional round.

Light didn't do it during warm ups, he woke up with a bum ankle and tested it during warm ups......we won't really know the status of Mankins until next weeks game.
