IMHO, relentless hyperbolic negativity has ruined what was once a pleasant thread.

Time for the mods to get more involved?

We have discussed this for many years. Yes the negativity sucks ... however this is an opinion board and members have the right to state their opinion.

I had to stream the game online today so I was following the game thread closely because I was on my computer, and holy crap, there were some posters who were going completely over the edge. I appreciate constructive criticism as much as the next guy, but what these guys were posting was completely unacceptable.

Are there adults on this board that sit around with their friends only utteringg relentless positive affirmations even in the worst of times during a game? This isn't real life, not sure why people take this stuff so personally. People like to vent on the game thread. If that offends your sensibilities, try to avoid the thread.

nah, game time passion gets the best of a lot of pretty good folks.

The First Amendment doesn't apply here.

Technically, if Ian wanted to, he could say, "If you make a post that mentions Eugene Chung, you'll be banned," and it'd be perfectly legal.

I'm OK with people being critical of the Pats, but if (A) you start becoming abusive towards other posters, or (B) post things that are clearly and utterly false, you should be gone.

I also think that if you say that in your opinion the game is over, and the Pats have lost, then you should leave the thread.

This forum has been overrun by whiny, immature, clueless fanboys.

One man's negativity is another man's reality...........Let it be....

How? Don't they focus mostly on the game? Which ones would want to expend energy policing game day posts during the middle of a game?

I almost think it's negative by design. I was once banned from a gameday thread for calling out a Jets troll.

The poll needs an "I don't care, I watch the game and don't post there." option

I don't let the negativity bother me but it's too much traffic.

I like the idea proposed a while back that you have to have a certain amount of posts in order to post in those threads.

Yo mama!

.

I don't mind the negativity, or the pointing out the deficiencies in the team or their play. Saying things like 'McCourty needs to turn his head around, he's getting beat like a rented mule' is OK but 'McCourty SUCKS! Bill SUCKS and can't draft!!!!!' is just ridiculous over the top hyperbole that is wholly unnecessary.

It's the inane babbling by people that contribute nothing but 'they suck, this sucks, he sucks' with no rational thought behind it that drives me insane, and is slowly driving me away from this site.

I've followed a few game day threads, I think they're just ridiculous and no longer follow, discourse is mostly stupid and/or attention-seeking. I probably should just ignore the idiots but truthfully my time is served better elsewhere.

I love reading the "Game over, we lost" posts after the 1st quarter just ended.

No...... If it bothers you so much don't read it. Or put the offenders on ignore.
