is marty schottenheimer's son...how much info you think he will pass on about the pats ? and will it be and advantage ?

If he does, it will be completely against NFL rules, and he could be suspended and/or fined.

and NFL will know that how? for all we know they can go out to dinner and we'll never know what they talked about

this kinda thing happens all the time..iam pretty sure BB passed on some info on the colts to dallas and cowher passed on info on the bengals to the pats because both helped the other team too..

I imagine Belichick will call Romeo to talk about his game against SD earlier in the year. No big deal.

Exactly why would it be against the rules? Does anyone know this for certain, or is everyone guessing? Has anyone ever received any punishment for doing so? I can't remember anything.

It's not like it's tampering or providing privileged information... it's just sharing experiences and scouting information.

Do you think that the Charger coaching staff is so incompetent that they won't be able to gameplan their offense for the Pats? I don't think Marty will be worrying so much that he has to get his kid's advice. After all....there are 17 games on film this year they can evaluate and Little Marty apparently didn't have the answers today anyway.

Heck....for the right price I will give Marty a call and give him the plan.....Run LT left....Run LT right....Run LT up the middle...

no one says charger coaching staff is imcompetent...but all teams do this kind of stuff to scout their opponents ..as someone says..BB will call romeo as well ...doesnt mean BB cant see 17 games of of tape.. i think jon gruden last yr even admitted that he and BB talk when needing help about common opponents

here you go...

“They're a very good football team,” Schottenheimer said. “They've got a lot of experience in the playoffs. They've got an outstanding defense.”

Schottenheimer said he will solicit some additional scouting from his son, Brian, the Jets' offensive coordinator.

“We spoke briefly after the game,” the elder Schottenheimer said. “He said he was fine. He just said, 'That's an awfully good football team.' ”

I think we have no choice but to counter this by having BB get on the phone immediately to the Herminator in KC for some insight on offense play calling against the Chargers!

Blood wins out....at least the son is already following in his father's playoff footsteps.

What do you think that Brian can provide that Marty and his staff can't pull from game footage?

I'd welcome any of the son's input to his father given the success of the Jets' offense this past Sunday.

I figure if you give the ball to LT about 75% of the time and Antonio Gates another 15% of the time that's probably a good start to the offensive gameplanning for SD.

Do not negate that Reche knows the entire Chargers playbook. You absolutely know that the Pats are going to put everything into stopping Tomlinson.

Good point about Reche, and we know Marty isn't the most creative tool in the shed, especially in the post. Even if he knows everything we have,he still has to come up with something better to counter it.
Nobody processes intel better than BB.
Marty won't see the same game he saw on Sunday.

The key will be which team will be able to adjust better during the game. I'll take Brady, Bill and all our intelligent, experienced vets over SD!!! Go Pats!

Yes, I agree.

If by this time of the year you cannot figure out and be aware of your upcoming opponent's tendencies and M.O., you not only don't deserve to win, you shouldn't even be in the league!

I'm with the bunch that believes these conversations take place all the time - I'm not thinking game planning video gets shared, but it doesn't really need to be as they all have access to that...

That being said, the Jets D and the SD D are different in many ways. I don't think the zebra can change its stripes too much even if there's a way to exploit an area of weakness.

So even if there is a way to exploit a Patriots weakness its more a matter of whether or not they have the personnel to carry it out.
