Ocho on his first TD from TFB!

He is doing it the right way and I am sure it is appreciated by BB and TFB along with the entire team.

He will do nothing but get better the more opportunities he gets.

I think despite not being productive, he wants to stay here. He's always been close friends with BB and Tom, and he seems to have made more than a few close friends within the team. ...and he's winning, something he never did a lot of before.

He seems like he'll do what he has to do in order to stay here. He played very well Sunday, he was open a lot, and he was doing a ton of downfield blocking. I think Tom was just mostly hitting the first open guy he saw due to being rushed.

If Deion doesn't come back next season, I think Ocho might be ready to be the #2, assuming Sunday wasn't just a fluke with Denver not covering anybody.

He'll be back. He's signed for three years.

He'll be back. He's signed for three years.

His contract included a $5.75M signing bonus and $250K workout bonus (and all players earned theirs this season due to the lockout) that is essentially sunk cost. His unguaranteed salary for the next two seasons is $3M but his cap hit is $4.5M. Absent a restructure to essentially veteran minimum it's not a given he will be back unless he suddenly starts producing commensurate to that cap hit over the next 4-6 weeks. They let Gaffney go for $2.5M per and Branch will likely come back for less than that. Welker is going to cost them double his 2011 cap hit whether he's on the tag or an extension, but he earns it.

For comparative purposes Welker's 2011 cap hit was just under $4.5M and Branch's was just over $2M. Welker took home just over $2M this season as did Branch. Chad took home $7M.

Deion is signed for three years? I wasn't asking if Ocho would be back.

If you're referring to me saying "He seems like he'll do whatever to stay here" I was saying I don't think he'll be cut. Not that he'll be resigned.

Deion is signed through 2011, Chad is signed through 2013.

Belichick and the veterans on this team sure have tamed Ochocinco." not looking ahead...focused on the Dolphins..working hard...happy with my role...blah, blah, blah." That is why he's still on the team and guys like Moss are not.

Good for you. Ocho. You are learning.

Now run your route, catch the damn ball and get both feet down in-bounds, for crying out loud.

That drop on the quick out pattern in the first half was a play that Branch would have made by driving back towards the ball. If he can get that one down it will open up the deep route even more.

It would be great if Ocho could be a consistent downfield threat on the outside so the cornerback and a safety are taken away from the middle of the field.

Ocho, we are most definitely rooting for you.

I predict you are right because of the mathematics involved.

Be very hard for him to have a smaller role in the playoffs than he has during the regular season, unless he is cut.

Ochocinco, who has had 14 catches for 261 yards and one TD,

Would anybody be shocked if Welker put up those numbers in a single game?

But seriously, folks, I agree that Chad is making like a team player, and that he has a good chance of being more effective going forward than he has to date, and also of being more productive just because of the Branch injury.

I also agree that losing even a single snap to Tiquan Simpson-Underwood shows that Chad isn't nearly the player he used to be ...

Why is this thread called: "Ocho on his first TD from TFB!"?

Tom Brady's full name is Thomas Edward Patrick Brady. What is up with this? I've seen it elsewhere on this board and do not get it.

I understand "Bucky F. Dent" or "Aaron B. Boone." But TFB?!?

What is the story here?

Because he's TOM F------G BRADY

Check out townienews.com ... GFY, TFB, WWW

Brandon Tate in 2010: 24 catches, 432 yards, 3 touchdowns
Ocho in 2011 thru week 15: 14 catches, 261 yards, 1 touchdown

Plus Tate was younger, cheaper, and returned kicks.

Am I missing something here? IMO there's no way Chad should be back on this roster next season.
