Yeah,I know this sounds dumb, but in reality there are reasons why fans from rival teams could actually be hoping the other team wins this week as well.

If the Jets win, it helps the Pats in the tiebreaker known as strength of schedule should it come down to this since the Pats have beaten the Jets twice.

If the Pats beat Denver and the Jets take care of Philly, then the Jets move closer to nailing down the final wild card spot but need for Denver to lose since they lost to both Denver and Oakland who are the main threats for the final seed as one of them will win the AFC West.

Everyone knows the Pats will win AT LEAST one of it's two remaining games at home,so Jets fans know the division is over anyway.

Does it make sense for fans of both teams that it's just fine if both win Sunday?,or am I nuts expecting fans to root for one hatred team to another?

I don't want to see the jests in the playoffs. time for that bubble to burst.

If feel like that too,but technically IIAC it could come down to a difference between 1 or 2 seed and COULD be a close scenario with the strength of schedule depending on a team that the Pats beat, not once but twice.

You're nuts......and I mean that in the nicest way.....but there is NO scenario where any right minded Patsfan would root for the Jests for ANYTHING other than FAILURE!!!!

I kinda don't care about the seeding...i do but not enough to see the jets in the playoffs.

Bye is good enough for me.

Seeing the Green Beans sink into dissension and abject despair is worth more to me than any impact their winning would have on our playoff seeding.

Yes, if the Pats, Texans, and Ravens win OUT then it will come down to the STRENGTH OF VICTORY tie breaker.

The big problem is that the Pats have NO CHANCE of catching the Ravens in this category. The Raven's victories are SIGNIFICANTLY higher with two wins against the Steelers, one against the 49ers, and one against the Texans (also two against hte Bengals if you think that is worthy).

I'd have to check on Houston though.

HOU's defeated opponents have 52 wins, and HOU still has to play CAR (4), TEN (7), and IND (hahahaha).

NE's defeated opponents have 54 wins, and NE still has to play DEN (8), MIA (4), and BUF (5).

I'm looking forward to an Eagles victory

F the jets..they are losing sunday

If the Jets lose, I always feel better about everything in general. I want that.

Same here. I almost feel as good about the Green Beans losing as the Patriots winning. Whenever they lose it's like the order of the universe has been reconfirmed.

I still think the Jets have a decent chance to be 9-7 or even 8-8. I think their last three games are the toughest games they have had since they played the Pats and the only game where they won with any ease was last week vs. the Chiefs. Even the Redskins game that looked like a blow out was actually a lot closer than the score indicated because of a Rex Grossman meltdown in the fourth quarter.

TITANS TITANS TITAN TITANS!

I'M A HUGE TITANS FAN FOR THESE LAST 3 GAMES. They beat indy and jacksonville, then manage to squeeze past Houston in the season finale, the jets will not be in the Playoffs and we take the number 2 seed.

And Sunday's Phil-NYJ game is a win-win. An Eagles victory and there's one more in the SOV victory column while a Jets victory, adds 2 to the SOV victory column basing it on the two times the Pats defeated the Jets....

There was that one time in 2008 when we were rooting for division rivals to make the playoffs with 11 wins...

Yes, but also consider that Houston has the exact same scenario with tonight's ATLANTA-JACKSONVILLE game.

If Atlanta wins, it's a +1 for HOU
If Jacksonville wins, it's +2 for HOU

Therefore, go Falcons!
