NFL Network, no link yet.

They were on quite a run of late, but obviously that was fruitless. So to say he was on thin ice would be a stretch. It means the organization was basically twiddling their thumbs waiting for them to lose a game badly.

Gotta be worth a fist pump

Calling it first: Manning and Dungy to Miami. ;)

oooohhhhhhh. You may not be far wrong. Do not see indy trading with an AFC team though.

So...who are the candidates to take the position?

Nolan?

These late season firings make no sense to me.

Not saying this is the case but sometimes it appears like late season firings are done, in part, to embarass the dismissed coach.

Cowher, Fisher and Gruden all in the market teams want the leg up. I still hate Fisher and think he coaches cheap tactics.

If Sporano wasn't embarrassed after Miami tried to hire Harbaugh last year i doubt this will.

I think it is reasonable to fire coaches after the team is eliminated from the playoffs. The distraction of wondering about the coach is removed. The focus is now all on the current game, and proving yourself for the future.

No, he was good for us.

Actually I think the players started playing for him lately, and they were coming on pretty good.

I think this is a pretty stupid mistake, to fire him at this point. Now there is nothing to worry about. This will take the air out of their sail when they come here on Christmas eve.

Agreed....now youre going to have to deal with Bill the Chin Cowher twice every year. Well that has been the rumor....

Jason LaCanfora on NFLN suggests the LOLphins might look at JEST OC Brian Schottenheimer.

Don't get the thinking of firing Sporano so soon. Looks as if the owner was waiting for the inevitable bad loss. Firing Todd Haley, well Romeo was there to run the ship.

Now Miami is a threat to hire a competent staff.

Bad news for the New England Patriots. The LOLphins may actually hire a qualified NFL coach for the next season.
