Yes, in 2002, it wasn't great, but they couldn't stop the RUN, that year. An embarrassing, pathetic, awful defense. No, Dan Dierdorf, not decimated by injuries, just bad. Every team in the league is missing 2 or 3 starters. And to the fanboys, its annoying because at 10-3 you know with JUST a little defense they would be playing the Packers. Look at Houston, they drafted a couple players, spent a little money and brought in a DC. For Bill Belichick the GENIUS to put together this flotsam and jetsam, its pathetic.

Also, poor clock mgmt, they got bailed out today. Plain and simple. Also, Fanboys, did you see your boy Orlovsky today? Its not laying back, its not focus, its not prevent, it a BAD, BAD defense with no talent, because they can't draft it, sign it or coach anymore. And Pats fans should be angry because if they can be 10-3 with this AWFUL defense imagine them with a good defense.

Yeah Defense kinda sucks. We all know. Gives up allot of yards, average amount of points, relies on takeaways, etc. Old news is old.

At least the team's winning games and doing what they have to to come up with wins. It ain't always pretty but that's the way it is. I'll worry about the future when it comes. For now I'll sit content in the present.

It really gets on my nerves when I see fans say the defense is ok because we won the game. We can make it to the playoffs with a crappy defense because every schedule has weak teams that help your record. However, most teams in the playoffs are really good and they are able to slow down our offense. That is the time that the bad defense comes back to hunt us.

The Colts had 121 total yards going into the fourth against the Pats. Then the Pats decided to throw in a lot of back ups in a blow out.

They could have had Jabaal Sheard, Brooks Reed. They have offensive players on defense.

They are winning because they have one of the most giftest QB's to ever play the game. And when its over a guy who should have won 4 Super Bowl's like Montana or maybe 5. Is going to have 3. But why don't you wait until the team is somewhat healthy before declaring how horrible it is or going to finish. We are missing Chung and Spikes right now, McCourty is still struggling post injury. Those are 3 very important pieces in the D. If 2 or 3 weeks from now as we get our guys back we're still having games like this then I'll panic.

Nobody's fooling themselves about this defense. The debate is whether or not they can do "just enough" to win. That formula worked for the Colts and the Saints, no reason it can't work for the Pats this year with Brady at the helm.
