Kick it down a notch
Todd Sauerbrun said he's prepared to change his punting style after last Sunday, when he had a high, booming 57-yard kick returned for a touchdown by the Titans' Pacman Jones. The punt was almost too good, which gave Jones plenty of room to build up steam before the coverage arrived.
"I'm going to taper it down, and not launch any 60-yarders," Sauerbrun said. "The idea is to just play steady ball and eliminate any return possibilities for them."
Sauerbrun received an earful from Belichick on the sideline after his punt to Jones. Later, Belichick took responsibility for not informing Sauerbrun of what the Patriots were looking for -- namely high, unreturnable punts.
Sauerbrun has worked to alter his style this week in practice.
"Bill is going to be happy with a 30-, 35-yarder with no return, and then we're going to go out and play defense," Sauerbrun said. "We're going to play it safe and let the offense and defense win the game."

maybe Walter was a good punter..for us
**whisper** BB thought so, but be careful who you mention it to around here. **/whisper**

30-35 yards with no return is NOT acceptable, btw. There's a happy medium between that and a 60 yarder. It is fully reasonable to expect a 40 yarder with good hang time.

You just can't please some people.

kind of agreed. i'll take a 38-45 yard punt with no return or with a risk of the return man to take it but take the chance of taking a big hit or going nowhere unless coverage unit doesnt play their lanes

Don't you roll your eyes at me buddy :)

The lowest net average in the league is 35.8. The median is 38.9. You're happy with 30-35 ???

I need you for a boss.

I like the angled out of bounds kicks. But they need to do whatever it takes to keep Miller as a non-factor in the game.

Ah, not sure what to think of a guy that likes peanut butter and banannas on his pizza?

But I do know that the "Punter" sucks!

I'm happy with an effort that fits into the team's plan of attack, freelancers always seem to affect that sign listing the number of days since the last accident. Though I'll cheerfully give you references to past subordinates, I get paid the same whether I'm loved or not. :D

Sauerbrun should be signed for next year. He probably will not alter his style now ... but I'm thinking he tweaks his style a bit to get alot more air with 5 yards less distance ... I can see that and i love it.

Miller=good Walter=bad.

You should try it sometime, you might be surprised ;)
