Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

Glad to see so many coming back from the report last wk. I think it's a great job that Belichick has been doing is regards to managing these injuries/players to some degree.

Not so good news is Arrington's addition with what appears to be a nagging foot injury...we certainly can't lose him.

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

If both are game ready,it could be interesting to see who wins the job of snapping the ball to Brady on Sunday - Wendell or Connolly

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

Ridley is back home in Mississippi dealing with a death in the family.

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

Good to know that made of glass Pat Chung is back.;)

Too bad Spikes is not on the "limited" list. He's the guy we need to see getting some reps in December. Mayo, Ninkovich and Spikes is a good starting trio behind the front four.

If Chung and McCourty get up to full-speed, the base defensive backfield starts to look okay heading towards the playoffs. I still wish Merriweather had not lacked the discipline to work himself off this team. Chung and Merriweather bringing the wood from the safety position was solid.

Getting Connolly and Wendell back in the middle of the offensive line is huge heading down the stretch, especially with Denver and Miami on tap - both nasty defensive fronts.

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

I'm starting to worry a bit about Spikes and his sprain. It's been a month since he was injured, I thought he'd at least be back at practice by now. Maybe next week. Last year when he came back for the playoff game he wasn't quite the same.

ya no kidding about spikes!

when spikes got suspended last year and had to miss the last 3 games of the season he wasn't the same for the playoffs. i really believed the pats missed him on defense. he is big against the run.

Word up is that Spikes told BB not to worry cause he was working long and hard with film.
Hopefully watching it, not making it.

I really hope Seabass is back for the playoffs too. I feel we're best with Solder at te with Gronk and Hernandez. With Woodhead at rb it makes us dangerous running and passing.

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

Spikes is officially made of glass IMO.

lmao, What are the qualifications to make the glass roster?

Our D has a bunch of guys suffering from the same thing Samuel jackson's character suffered from in the movie Unbreakable.:p

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

hey......at least chung is back

now we can be proud of the fact that all that value BB generated in trading down will have 2 of the last 10 2nd round draft picks since 2008 stand to contribute Sunday (gronk and chung)

it lessens the pain of wondering how the first rounders used to generate all that value could have helped this team

dowling
vereen
gronk
cunningham
spikes
chung
butler
brace
vollmer
wheatley

since philosophies are constantly changing on this team, does anyone think its time to start moving up in drafting or should the pats continue to seek out this sort of value in the 2nd round (the 3rd round is even worse.....I pity ridley and mallett)

no different than the broken record of 'BB knows best' ..... just a different record

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

I tend to agree to a point...last draft, with all the ammo at picks that he had at his disposal, I thought BB would pkg some picks and move up to grab some players he really liked.....his record of moving down to get JAGS doesn't give me a warm fuzzy......

I've generally supported his moves, but after 3 years or so..how many impact players has he passed on to move down and basically just fill a hole....

I can't argue with his regular season record as he coaches up players well....but there are the playoff losses the past few years that stand out.....couldn't 2 or 3 impact players have made a difference?

JMHO

Please stop quoting him then, so those of us with him on our ignore list don't have to see his posts :p

Re: Wed. Practice: Only Vollmer and Spikes Absent for Injury

BostonHerald.com - Patriots WR Wes Welker showed up to a charity event with a soft cast on his wrist

Patriots WR Wes Welker joined forces with the Hillman Foundation and Taylor Twellman’s Foundation for a charity event at the Foundation Room Tuesday night, and he was rocking an interesting accessory. As that photo shows, Welker had a soft cast on his right wrist.

Gasp! Well, kinda. The hard-nosed receiver looked fine otherwise and he actually won the gift-wrapping contest using that hand. That means it can’t be that bad.

Oh, and then when he was at practice yesterday, there either was no cast or it was covered up. Welker’s wrist wasn’t on the injury report because I’m told he wasn’t limited or encumbered in practice. And the team is usually pretty good about listing every, single, minute injury.

For a receiver with a soft cast on his wrist… something to watch. But considering Welker has played through broken ribs before, I wouldn’t worry too much.

Spikes returns to practice today

Brandon Spikes makes his first return to practice today since he sprained his MCL. Good to see that this teams is getting healthy as we head into the final month or so of the season.
