*Update* Patriots and Broncos Not Flexed to Sunday Night
By: Derek Havens

A decision on the New England Patriots at the Denver Broncos game has been made and the game will not be flexed to Sunday Night football. ...

Kraft sure likes using his power to his advantage, looks like it worked again.

Not only can he bully people in NE, he can do it to the NFL as well.

You must have been in a coma in September 2007.

Didn't you hear....Goodell was going to give Brady to the NY Jets...as compensation for a 7 years of video enhanced defeats...But Bob held firm...bless him

Give me a genuine example of him "bullying" people anywhere.

Good,The Broncos already have that Mile High stadium advantage, they don't need the Prime Time atmoshere on top of that.

More like flexing his very sunstantial muscles.....more so recently....redistricting thanks to obliging politicians (wonder how that works) and now casinos.
In the past, state funded infrastructure....again, nice to have obliging politicians.

If a casino does get built, hope they name it appropriately ...Bradywoods....because without our gunslinger, the local McDonalds would be the best meal in town

Wow. Guess you never heard of South Boston. And that pedestrian bridge that got shot down.

Tell me more about these "obliging politicians".

And evidently the $70 million for road infrastructure around a 100% privately funded stadium (with no PSL's shoved down the fanbase' throat) sounds like a lot to you compared to ENTIRELY State/City funded stadiums across the NFL. Show me one (Just ONE, Borg!) multi-hundred million dollar stadium in the United States of America, built in the past 15 years where private funding was more than 80% of the entire project. Go ahead, you're on the clock and I'm waiting.

I'm walking into FedEx Field this Sunday COUNTING MY BLESSINGS for every moment that Bob Kraft owns the team I love. Pathetic that Jeff Saturday appreciates Bob Kraft more than some of the New England fans.

Some people here deserve to be Washington Redskins or Jacksonville Jaguars fans......or the St Louis Patriots. Those fans deserve to live in a world of this:

I'm glad to keep the earlier time.

Now lets hope BB has a gameplan to clearly make tebow look like the real QB we all know he is.

Then NBC will be glad to have not shown it.

Maybe you should ask the Foxboro Selectmen about that, I am sure they would have an opinion on the matter. As do a lot of the fans from me reading here occasionally.

Kraft is trying to turn Foxboro into his own little corporate playground, and uses the same type of influence and clout he has with the NFL to get his way. Sure worked with the SNF game, I mean Tebow vs Brady or the Ravens vs a 4-7 SD team?No brainer right? Wrong. Kraft and CBS aren't going to let that happen.

I bet the residents are fully behind the cash cow casino he is trying to build aren't they? Oh no what is that they are putting up a fight and Kraft is trying to squash them like a bug? Couldn't be.

Follow the money.

I'm sorry, why is a Baltimore Ravens troll (and internet name supporter of someone guilty of murder) a credible opinion in this discussion?

Your team had a stadium built 100% from state taxes and RECEIVES annual rent from the state that built the stadium. PSL's also.

In your wildest dreams, your team would have done 10% as much for its fanbase and region as Bob Kraft has.......but Baltimore is just a big Newark and was too desperate anyhow.

This game should be televised nationally at 4pm. There aren't many other games.

The NFL dictates that the Jets and Giants play at different times so they won't conflict with each other on television in the NYC market. Plus they have a rule of no local game in a market when the team is at home (Giants at 1:00); however I was surprised they didn't make an exception for this game and move the Jets-Eagles to 1:00 if they weren't going to move the Pats-Broncos to SNF. It would not have been unprecedented; they did that when Favre returned to Green Bay in 2009.

Aside from your getting the Chargers record wrong, you're wrong about how flex scheduling works.

Flex scheduling is not about putting the best available game on SNF and never has been. It is strictly about avoiding stinkers, such as a game involving teams like this year's versions of the Colts, Rams, etc.

But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your agenda.

To be fair, I think CBS would have raised a stink about this. That would have been the second or maybe even third Tebow game they would have lost this season.

dam it....then i could have watched it

I am sure the fact that the NFL took the Broncos-Vikings game away from CBS and handed it to Fox had a great deal to do with the lengthy discussions.

ya baby. this is better for the team anyway. they would lose there entire monday due to late travel after the game. and they have a short week because they play dec 24th on a sat. outstanding.

Mike Reiss, is that you? ;)

1. Robert Kraft's role in the process. Would the chairman of the NFL's Broadcasting Committee really use his influence to keep the game on CBS because it is what the Patriots prefer? This is what some are suggesting, pointing out that Kraft and CBS have a business relationship (the CBS Scene restaurant is at Patriot Place). That could be the case, but I look at things differently. Maybe I'm naive, but I believe if the networks were switched and the same factors were in play, the same decision would be made because it was deemed as being most fair from a league perspective. A key consideration had to be that CBS released last week's Broncos-Vikings game to Fox when NBC's flex scheduling took Lions-Saints away from Fox. If that doesn't happen, and CBS wouldn't have had just one Tim Tebow/Broncos game over a five-week stretch (Week 11-15), I think Patriots-Broncos gets flexed to prime-time and there is no delay in the announcement.
