Wow

I just want the NFL to make a deal with someone other than directv

I hate that they're my only option to watch all the Pats games.

Interesting info.
I wonder if it will increase cable fees ?

The deals won't kick in until 2014 though, and the cap is expected to remain fairly flat in the interim. And I'm sure agents will be negotiating market driving and setting deals with an eye toward that eventuality beginning next season. Owners were smart to have held strong for both a rollback in the % on revenue split and a reinstatement of the cap.

Good luck Ralph Wilson trying to convince taxpayers to pick up the tab on your $110 million stadium renovation.

They want to renovate that place? What they need to do is raze the thing and build a NEW stadium.

In the past Bob Kraft was credited with being a major player in these TV deals, was he involved in this as well.. if so, he can now wear a big S on his shirt.

thats a lot of money. You can betcha the cost to TV viewers is going up.

AS sure as Favre talks about a comeback the customer will pay more.

Over the existing one?

It's sickening that they get away with what is a pretty clear violation of anti-trust legislation. Essentially they have been grandfathered in to allowing it to continue. When baseball tried to do the same thing a couple years ago, Congress smacked them upside the head.

Long time lurker and I rarely ever post ever maybe last time in a while but as a transplant Pats fan who lives in LA. I too used to have to suffer with Directv but not anymore. You can now subscribe to NFL Sunday ticket through the Playstation 3 without having to be a Directv subscriber. It's pretty much the same price too.

Scumbag NFL signs based new CBA through 2020 based on current revenues.

Increases revenue by 64% and keeps all the profit to themselves :singing:

Teams won't have to worry much about Cap hells going forward..

Score! NFL to Grab $7 Billion a Year in Broadcast Deals - DailyFinance

7 billion a season.. a 64% increase over current..

There will still be cap issues, because player salaries are going to go through the roof, since there is now a minimum payroll.
Basically a 64% raise across the board, and the cap issue is the same as ever, maybe worse because the rapid increase will bring exorbitant signing bonuses with it most likely. Potential for dead money killing a teams cap will be at an all time high.

Thats not the case. The cap will still be tied to revenues, so both sides share the 64% more.

Not sure why you guys say you have to "suffer" with DirecTV. It's better than any cable company out there.

I suggest you educate yourself on the new CBA because the players will see that new money in the salary cap in 2014 when it goes into affect.
