I'm going and need advice on parking. I've heard it can be a problem there; looks like prepaid parking passes are needed to get close to the stadium. Can you buy parking day of game? Are there private lots nearby? Please advise.

Hey, Tune, I'm going and got a quick tutorial on it this week.

There are several Permit Only parking lots (permits for which you can have prepackaged with your tickets or can buy on E-Bay). I hear there is also a shuttle service from a parking lot at the former Capital Centre (I think it's now a mall).

I got tickets on Stubhub that included a permit for the Green lot, but before I got that package, I was looking and saw that there is also a Cash Parking Lot at the Jericho Church (about .5 miles away).

Here is a very detailed summary I found (which advises to stay the hell away from the cash lots :( ):

Also, if you don't mind walking about a mile - there is the Morgan Boulevard Metro station (Blue Line) that I hear is pretty popular for folks who just don't want the automotive headache.

Thanks Shmess. Good lord, what a freaking nightmare. I guess I've got some homework to do. The passes on eBay are all around $50 PLUS shipping, and I'd need it overnighted to be safe.

Personally, if I weren't taking my young son and nephew with me, I'd be taking the Metro and walking the mere 1 mile from that Morgan Boulevard (Blue Line) metro station. I'm into the game experience and could really care less about tailgating. Plus, the Metro is awesome.

Where would you advise getting on the Metro Blue Line? (Preferably a place with easy parking.) We'd be driving in from Owings Mills, if that helps any.

I plan on getting on the green line at greenbelt and transferring to blue line. It doesn't appear that there is a good & cheap parking option at that place.

OK, if you're coming in from the north, Owings Mill, Juny's idea of taking the Green line from the northern terminus at the Greenbelt station makes the most sense to me. Switch to the Blue Line at L'Enfant Plaza.

this says there is a direct path or walkway for fans....not too bad.

Shmes

There is transport from BWI to the Green Line?????

Good call!

I just checked and you are correct! There is a direct shuttle from the pickup area at BWI to Greenbelt station (however if you're not flying in, day parking at BWI is remote and hourly parking is expensive).

This is good for anyone flying in to see the game, but for Tunescribe coming down from Owings Mills, it's probably just better/cheaper/easier to drive to the Greenbelt station.

Thanks for the input guys (especially you, Shmessy :)). After looking things over and considering timetables, etc., I decided to bite the bullet and buy a green-lot parking pass on eBay ($54 including overnight postage). Now, my next question -- and Shmessy, maybe you know this answer as well -- where in the green lots should I shoot for? Do you have a choice driving in? Or does it not matter? The green lots seem big and there are several.

And Shmess, PM me if you want to coordinate and tailgate together.

As someone who lives here, I agree with the others.

Driving here is generally a nightmare. Take the Metro.

My son and I will be there. We are riding with my brother so at least we'll be along or the ride and not trying to actually drive i'n that mess. We will be i'n the green lot.

Im going to the skins game. My plane leaves Saturday from JFK, staying at the madison hotel, game on sunday then leave back for CT on monday. If anyone going to the game, we should meet up!!

I have a green lot parking pass but a buddy of mine is a cop and is working the game so he is getting us into the RV lot....I will find out for sure tomorrow but when I find out I can post that if anyone needs a free parking pass I will give it to you....We can meet up somewhere and I can give it to you.....I work in Forestville MD and live in Pasadena MD so there is a wide range of places that I could meet someone.....I will be in section 117 but if people want to meet up somewhere I can work my way over there.....
