A player like Suh needs the right coach and he'd be okay. Some one like Parcell's would be perfect for him if he still coached, what's the Tuna up to these day's anyways?

Rex Ryan? That guy is hardly a disciplinarian. Rex Ryan will be one to encourage Suh imo.

If there's any coach then i'd say it has to be BB.

A coach like Marvin Lewis might be good as well,no one has heard anything bad about Pacman for quite a while since he joined the Bengals and T.O. seemed quite under control in Cincy.

I remember posting on this board that if BB traded his entire draft or the appropriate level of compensation for Suh, I would have gone along with it. I still feel that he is an incredible talent and a game-changer on defense. A player that this defense could certainly use.

He reminds me a little of Seymour- who also is a highly-intelligent, talented player with a mean streak but also a pretty sizable ego. Part of me thinks that if Sey went to another team with a weak coach, he might also have become a bit of a nut similar to what we we are seeing with Suh. Sey still shows this every now and then with those untimely personal foul penalties. Just a lack of self-control.

I do think that Suh needs dicipline- not sure Schwartz is the right guy for Suh's personality.

Once this crap starts piling up it's a little like a freigh train with no brakes running downhill. Tough to get ahead of or stop. Might have been avoided had he started out with the right coach and support system. 2003-04 Pats and BB probably corral that ego. BB and the present team wouldn't put a dent in it. But the seeds were planted a lot earlier, probably in college as his football profile rose. He probably needs to be on a team with Ray Ray cause he's tuning out all the critics at this point. Had a sitdown with the Commisioner and he obviously took out of it what he wanted to. He's a narcissist with a mean streak and that often ends up badly for not just for them but for others they are associated with.

Discipline alone won't work with Suh at this point. What he needs is therapy, but narcissists seldom seek it...and seldom benefit from it if merely forced to undergo it.

an anti-disciplinarian like Rex at this point wouldn't be so bad for him. Rex is the ultimate players coach and is good at dealing with different personality types. Some players don't need discipline as much as they do some one who can understand them.

Assuming Suh was a model citizen, would you trade Gronkowski, Hernandez, Spikes, Mesko, McCourty, Deaderick, and Ras-I Dowling (Patriots' 3rd round 2010 pick went to Carolina for a 2011 2nd that turned out to be Dowling)?

I don't think I would.

Just looking at that draft, I noted that the Patriots got their guy (McCourty) by trading down, but who did they get in the tradedowns? Taylor Price (a throwaway pick) and Aaron Hernandez.

Those 7 players are worth more to the Patriots than Suh.

That might be true for some cases but what is there to understand with Suh? The guy is just out of control and his coach isn't far behind.

With all the nonsense that Suh has roped himself into, in hindsight certainly not. However, if he evolved into the next Reggie White I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm a firm believer that a D-lineman that can shut down the run, collapse the pocket, pressure the QB and attract double & triple teams is THE most valuable player on a defense. More important that a shutdown CB, a hard-hitting SS, a tacking machine at MLB or a sackmaster OLB.

Gronk is the only guy from your list that I slightly waffle over as I think he has a shot at being one of the best, complete TEs in NFL history.

This will end badly for Suh.

Forget about finding the right coach or assistants. Where the bloody h3ll is the veteran leadership on that team? Isn't there a single veteran player willing to step up and tell him to straighten up and fly right?

All of that narcissistic behaviour and destructive attitude could be throttled down if anyone of his team mates gave a flying fig about him, or about their own team.

This entire episode speaks volumes about the lack of leadership from the coach on down to the players. It says to me that no one there is willing to step up and take any sort of leadership position or responsibility.

It's no wonder they are having troubles on the field with penalties.

This will end badly for all concerned. The Detroit Lions organization had a d@mned fine chance to have a great season, to put some hope and change into that dying city, and they have squandered it.

I heard somewhere that Suh is a real arse and a lot of his college and Pro teams do not like him. Brandon Moore (former college teammate) publically blasted him for always been a dirty player after his stomping incident.
