Pats #1 seed in AFC right now

Common opponents will not apply between the Patriots and any of the other 9-3 teams, as it requires 4+ games with common opponents.

Edit. I see someone else already pointed out that they will both have played the minimum number of four common games (Jests, Indy, SD and Steelers) and, assuming that the ravens win out, will be 5--0 vs. 4--1 against them.

but but but but but but but.............they suck. How can this be:(

Worst #1 seed EVER!!!1!1!!

WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's probably better to get the #2 seed this year. it would be better for Ravens/Steelers to beat each other up than to play both of them

Won't the #2 seed play either PITT or BALT in their first game?

Would it at least begin to ease the pain of 07 to beat an undefeated GB team in the SB?

The AFC playoff picture is quite simple. No team led by Mark Sanchez, Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, or T.J Yates will reach the superbowl.

The AFC representative will only be from one of Brady or Roethlisberger, I left Tebow out because he has a shot with the divine on his side.

The #2 seed will play the highest remaining seed after the wild card round. Either Baltimore or the Steelers will likely be the #5 seed (top wild card team), meaning that the #3 seed (Texans/Titans or Raiders/Broncos) would travel to face the #2 team as long as they beat the #6 seed.

In other words (if the Patriots end up with the #2 seed), as long as the 3rd seed wins, the Patriots can avoid at least one of the Ravens/Steelers duo.

Such things only happens in fairy tales, in real life, there is no way any of our corners can defend those back shoulder throws. But then, things happen in life too where injuries changes the balance of games so who knows. The way this season is going, I will not be surprise to face understrength teams for the rest of the way.

Don't discount the Raiders/Broncos or Texans who Pitt will play one of them to go on to NE or Balt.

The Raiders are up one week and down the next but are still a decent team, the Texans with that D are worthy as well

I believe this to be correct. Ultimately, the QB is called on to win these games, and I don't see anyone on that first list getting it done.

Flacco could make it,The Ravens defense took Trent Dilfer into a Super Bowl,Why not Flacco?

A great Defense can overshadow an average QB

I just can't see it, but I know what you're saying. The Flacco-led offense has laid so many eggs this year, even in some wins.

First Round, Playoffs?

So I know its a tad early but seeing that we are entering the last portion of the season with 4 games left, the playoff picture is beggining to form.

If we get the 1st seed, which I'm sure we will, what team do you think we'd be playing first? I think it'll be either Baltimore or Pittsburgh.

Do we like our chances against these teams?

Thoughts?

Re: First Round, Playoffs?

Playoffs?! Don't talk about playoffs! You kidding me?! Playoffs

Re: First Round, Playoffs?

I'm going to assume Texans lose 2, Ravens win the North and Pats earn the #1 seed. We'll play highest winning seed which would be Burgh at #5 after they dispatch of whoever wins the AFC West.

Pats will ******** Pittsburgh at home.

We have Tom Brady. I like our chances almost every game. And if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best right? No need to dodge and hope the other team fails...you beat em straight up.

Re: First Round, Playoffs?

Pittsburgh in the playoffs wouldn't frighten me as much as other people. They completely changed what they usually do on defense in that game and the Pats now have them on tape. I'd expect a much better offensive output than the first game. If the playoffs started right now, we'd get the Bengals. They have the type of defense that could give us some trouble for a little bit, but we'd outlast them at home. Baltimore is the only proposition that truly frightens me in the postseason. That defense is nasty and they now have some legitimate weapons at WR. We would need to get to Flacco in that game. The best thing about this season is that there is some parity in the AFC. So it's still anybody's to win.
