Taylor Price Waived

As per Bedard twitter

Re: Taylor Price Waived

Well, there goes that hamstring injury theory...

Re: Taylor Price Waived

Pretty surprised, the kid must be dumb as bricks, I can't imagine this is because of his "hamstring", unless that was just an excuse. I was pretty high on him, I'll admit.

But oh well, lets see what Underwood can do, I guess?

Re: Taylor Price Waived

If true, it shouldn''t be long before he's claimed--- and can be added to the list of what seems like 20 guys who we've cut this year that are on other teams.

Re: Taylor Price Waived

:scared:................

Re: Taylor Price Waived

BB should just give up on drafting for receivers and CBs. This is riduculous! What good is having multiple picks in the second and thrid round each year if they are squandered?

So who takes his roster spot????

Re: Taylor Price Waived

He's going to go perform well for some other team. Just watch.

Wouldn't surprise me. He's got all the physical ability to do so. Had to have been the mental side of the game that he didn't get, and most teams are easier on their WRs than New England.

That has to be the problem. We've seen he's athletic and has great hands, yet he gets cut without even getting a chance on the field.

Re: Taylor Price Waived

as the season has progressed its been more evident he just didn't fit.

Looked damn good in the first pre season this game too.

A bona fides mystery this one.

Best of luck Taylor.

Welcome to the Chad Jackson gang.

Re: Taylor Price Waived

There were so many good receivers in the middle of that draft. Argh.

The Patriots should send a first round pick to Pittsburgh for the rights to their wideout board.

Re: Taylor Price Waived

Is our offense really that difficult for what seems like 80% of the receivers we bring in to grasp?

Recently, who has really played in the offense?

Moss, Welker, and Branch all succeeded.

Gaffney and Stallworth were contributors in 2007 but gone shortly after, opinions on them? Gaffney was here in 06 and 08 as well but never did a whole lot, Stallworth looked better in 07 than Gaffney in all 3 seasons. They were both decent in the system in my opinion.

Edelman has proven that with extended playing time he can succeed.

We had no choice but to play Aiken, but he didn't look awful, still, without injuries everywhere he never would have sniffed the field.

Holt, we'll never know, hurt his knee in training camp.

Galloway was a failure, that may have been because of his hands though.

Ochocinco doesn't get it just yet.

Price obviously didn't get it.

So, my question, is it the offense itself, or just a bad eye for receivers? Who else has been here recently at the WR position that did or didn't work out?

Re: Taylor Price Waived

Not at all surprised by this seeing that Kid & Play got in the game and Price didn't.

Add to the list of 3rd round garbage:

Price in 2010
McKenzie 2009
Tate 2009
Crable 2008
O'Connell 2008

Add in Wheatley, Brace, Butler and Cunningham and a case should be made for them to stop trading down and maybe instead trade up. Either that or reassess the methods they've used to evaluate talent.

Re: Taylor Price Waived

I mean...I always, always defend BB's drafting, but I can't fathom that NE hasn't drafted and developed a quality wide receiver from the first three rounds of the draft since...what, 2002? Forget defensive back or lineman, this team has just been hopeless using early-round draft choices on the wide receiver position. It's depressing.

Hey, maybe Tiquan will develop. The team was impressed at his quick grasp of the offense, and he sure has blazing speed. You never know.

Bill O'Brien was talking a month ago about how happy they were with Price and that they wanted to try and get him on the field more. Then, last week, all 46 active players were on the field, EXCEPT for Price. I wonder if we'll ever know what happened.

This is our plan to play with 5 tight ends next year. You heard it first here!

Hernandez Finley Light-Mankins-Koppen-Waters-Vollmer Solder(T/TE) Gronk Clark

------------------------------------Brady

Re: Taylor Price Waived

Surprising. I remember coming out of college he wasn't real productive, they had more of a running team there, IIRC. He struck me as not a natural receiver ala ben watson, kind of a kung fu fighting against the ball thing to paraphrase another poster, but I may be wrong. Maybe he couldn't pick up the mental aspect. That would be surprising given he's been there 2 years.

They need to draft a nifty guy who is a natural receiver, has great hands, plays in a pro type system with lots of reads. Jarius wright of arkansas comes to mind.

Either that or get a bunch of vet receivers throw them against the wall in preseason and see who can pick it up.

Re: Taylor Price Waived

When is Cunningham gonna be waived as well? What a disaster of draft picks that havent panned out!!

Re: Taylor Price Waived

BB knows how to piss me off sometimes, damn - i had really big hopes for that kid, and i guess brady didnt really had a chrmistry with Price cause he must have some word about things like that. damn!

Seriously. There are always undrafted or late round wide receivers who turn out more successful then their compadres in the middle rounds. GB's cornerback coach just said he thought Victor Cruz was better than Hakeem Nicks. They've got to be able to find somebody.

Re: Taylor Price Waived

I'm sad. Damnit TP
