Just great stuff from BB:
BostonHerald.com - Blogs: Rap Sheet» Blog Archive » Patriots coach Bill Belichick offers a thorough explanation of December dominance…

It’s a constant race for 16 weeks to get your football team better and better and better and better but they’re doing that on the other side too. I really think when the season starts, as much as anybody wants to say, ‘Well, we’ll start off where we were last year,’ there’s no way. There’s no way. It takes so long to build to that point that you have to be realistic. You just can’t do the things that you did a year ago in December, in September. Maybe some of them, you pick out a few but overall as team, there’s no way.

Reading that article makes me realize just how puny my football mind is compared to BB...

I am a student of the game. I read several boring coaching book. I even know the historical formations such as the single wing (wildcat in today's teminology) or power T, defensive schemes, etc. But to listen to even college coaches of a Div IIA team, I realize I am just no match for a professional football coach. It's not rocket science they tell us, but it is very complex. Reads, adjustments, techniques, blocks, etc, etc, etc all have their own jargon. Learning the vernacular alone must take several seasons of immersion.

Makes you realize why he has no time for guys who need babysitting.

We just need to continue improving on the post-season. last year our biggest flaw was blown up by the jets, our D. and as of now, our Achilles' heel is our D again.

And just how impressive is the football knowledge of all the posters to this forum who understand so much more about football than Belichick does.

And they do it without game film that shows the entire field, without seeing the practices, without seeing the players interact with their coaches, and without seeing the players in the locker room.

Now that is really impressive.

Well, last year it was the pass rush. With Carter and Anderson looking strong in the last month, and Ninkovich playing very well, that's not the weakest link anymore. If Chung and McCourty come back healthy, and with Spikes back healthy and improving, we might be able to field a pretty credible defense in a week or two. I would love to see the unit gel in time for the playoffs.

BB is rarely as exuberant over a team as he has been about this one. I take that as a very good sign.

*Envious*

Well..i'm playing the jets..pretty confident i'm gonna win the SB every season but so far i've always fallen short in the AFC game. But we have a great young franchise QB so we're working on it.

BB is best coach in football but obviously has flaws. Drafting, ego, etc.

I will say that (based on what I bolded out) if those 3 kids can play the way he wants them to, they will go far in the playoffs.
