Jacksonville can't sustain a team and a team in LA is inevitable so I would like to see them make the move because i wouldn't want the Bills or Vikings to be the team that makes that move.
I think you are probably right.
Based on the article it seems as though who ever buys would be stuck in Jacksonville until the lease is up. This would be a perfect opportunity for whoever wanted to move to LA as that would likely be a pretty lengthy fight one that could end up in a suburb of LA.
Call me crazy but I think it could actually work here. Make them the Boston Jaguars and actually put them in the city (I know that fight might be harder than LA) and I think they would draw better than Jax and better than alot of the lower market teams. I think with the Pats recent history they wouldnt take much of a hit.
Boston is one of the countries biggest sports markets and unlike all the other big sports markets we do not double up on teams.
Re-alignment would be needed as I would think you would want them in different conferences.
It would be tough for this team to build a loyal fan base as I doubt many jump ship from the Pats but I think they would still sell enough tickets in this town to keep them happy and after a decade or so they would likely have a decent fan base. Most of New England would still relate to Pats but the city of Boston would likely start feeling it.
I cant see Kraft liking this and I know there is basically no chance this would ever happen but I think it could work.
I know many have probably stopped reading as this seems so out there but if you are still reading ask yourself this would you rather take your chances in some aweful market or go to a great market and fight for recognition?
