Well Chad a bird in the hand is worth two ... ... oh never mind.

At some point this season the light is going to go on. I maintain that and vehemently stand by that. I don't know if it's going to be against Indy or in Indy but at some point this season he's going to get it.

There is just something about his attitude that gives me hope as well. He is not happy but from bits and pieces that I am hearing, he is working very hard, I hear was in today and worked with Brady for more than 2 hours.

Chad has always been a hard worker. I too like his attitude. But that doesn't change the fact that it was a bad trade and it hasn't worked out.

Provided he is not cut, one can not make this statement yet. The coaches and Brady have decided not to use him. There are times when he gets on the field in his limited snaps where you can see him being clearly opened and Brady just looking at Branch or Gronk all the way.
I am quietly confident in what I have not seen yet. Last year, we all knew who we were, this year, we have so many new pieces that nobody knows a thing about, if they are developing games plans for all the weapons we have, our offense can be scary come January and possibly beyond.

I disagree. He's had very little production and has often seemed lost in the offense.

Forum should have an auto-ban feature for using this name.

Well I noticed you posted on this thread and decided to take you off ignore in the hope you had something worth adding. Nope, you didn't. Just more of your pointless and worthless bulls***. It seems you can't get past a little internet bashing that you got from me last week after you attempted to talk ****. You are just another douche not worth paying much attention to. You are back on ignore, for good this time.

It's week 12 and people STILL think Ocho will finally "get" it. Wow. Seriously, I fear for the future of this country.

So, his "attitude" gives you hope...or his "funny tweets" or that he says he works really hard....or the fact he hasn't been cut yet....or....or.....'gimme a break.

I'll fear for the future of this country when giant reptilian squids armed with plasma guns descend from the sky to harvest our thumbs. Until then I won't react quite so strongly.

Ocho's issue isn't that he can't play anymore, it's just an acclimation to a completely different system that he has never played in. He played his entire career in a completely different system from this one. New nomenclature, new routes, new styles of routes, new quarterback. It's not an easy thing to undo a decade of programming, and I think that most people would be more patient with an equally talented rookie as that is essentially what this situation is.

He's working at it, and he is capable of putting it together. If he can or cannot remains to be seen but I remain optimistic as there is no reason not to be.

4th month of the season and we finally find out what happened to Dane Fletcher, Thanks!

1) How do you know he CAN play anymore?

2) Give me a break with the acclimation angle.....seriously, it's been how long now? Wonder how long it took Edleman to "acclimate" to playing the nickle? How's Lloyd doing these days? C'mon....

3) You think there is reason to be optimistic? Thank G-d your not my financial advisor, I'd be sleeping at the Pine Street Inn. You base this optimism on what? His production in Cincy? His "perceived" ability to learn? I mean, what more evidence do you need that his tenure as a Patriot is an absolute failure? Sometimes you really should just take things for what they are. Hope is a beautiful thing, but Chad is hopeless in New England.

4) The reaction may be stronger than it should be because the amount of denial by some blows my mind. It's like some of you live in a land of lolipops and unicorns where everyone gets a trophy and a free pass to Disney.

Finally a Pats fan I've seen that in this thread that sees the reality. We're sitting here past half the season and the guy is still a total waste, yet I've had multiple people insult me for pointing out the obvious and we're talking about a player who isn't even a true Patriot. We're talking about a guy that just tried to come over here and leach a ring that treated his former coach and team like trash, but for some stupid reason he gets the benefit of the doubt by so many people even though he has done nothing to earn it, and people are so ready to defend him as if he was Troy Brown or something. It's mind boggling honestly.

Strong words:D

1) I know he can still play by watching his athleticism on the field. He's still able to separate, he's still fluid as hell, he's still pretty fast. He can get off of jams, he's still got his quickness. His athleticism hasn't gone anywhere.

2) I think citing Edelman is a little different. Edelman is playing defense with assigned roles and defined procedures. Is he instinctive? Sure, but he's not being asked to change what depth and coverage he plays *to the inch* based upon how hard the receiver fires off of the line. His coverages have been pretty basic. Brandon Lloyd went from the McDaniels spread to the McDaniels spread. So, uh...yeah.

3) I have reason for optimism because he's working hard and has been showing signs of making the right reads. Not all the time, but often enough to show progress. I also have reason for optimism because I'm generally a positive person...it's a nice way to go through life.

4) I would love to live in a land of lollipops and unicorns. That would kick ass.

What I find mind boogling is how some people hate on Ochocinco like he punched out their mother. He hasn't lived out to his paycheque, but he is good insurance in case Branch or Welker go down. From all reports all he has done is bust his ass on the practice field and be a team player since he got to New England - is that not "the Patriot Way?"

Chad Ochocinco was a waste of a 5th round draft pick. With all the holes on defense, that 5th round draft pick is now warranted in the 2012 NFL Draft.

You hit the nail right on the head!

He's slightly less worthless than Price or Underwood. So he has that going for him.

Some people seem to be personally offended that a player would DARE to have a roster spot on their favorite team and not do exactly what they thought that player would be here to do. Yes, let's cut him immediately because he's not catching a bunch of passes every game, even though he hardly has any chance because as the third receiver on a team that mainly runs 2 TE 2 WR 1 RB sets he's not going to get a lot of snaps to begin with.
