Re: Adams released

In BB i dont trust.Listen he is a great coach but he has too many responsibilities.I would welcome a new defensive coordinator next year. This defense just stinks! You can say well they give up alot of garbage yards but that wont cut it.You need to be able to get stops once the playoffs occur. This offense has to be great in order to win games.

If you don't draft well in the secondary or sign a FA that really has credentials,it won't matter who is running the defense.

Remember....A jockey can't win without a good horse

Bill has to make some good decisions at Safety and Corner next year in the draft or open the pockets for a FA CB/S not in his mid 30s

Re: Adams released

Why have the Patriots kept Sergio Brown on the roster?

Re: Adams released

SPECULATION
1) McCourty is healthy.
2) Edelman is now a defensive back, better than Adams.
3) Chung is probably healthy.
4) Moore looked better Adams as a corner when he filled in.
5) Ventrone can now come back if Belichick wants a ninth defensive back!

I'm not sure I understand why Adams is now not good enough to be a backup defensive back.
================================
We usually carry 9 defensive backs. Belichick seems to be OK with only 8, including Edelman and Sergio Brown; Ventrone could be number 9.

CORNERS McCourty, Arrington, Molden, Edelman

SAFETIES Chung, Ihedigbo, Moore, Brown

All of those guys, except Ventrone are already on the roster. So unless Ventrone is comng back, why cut Adams??????

This. I actually like the other 7 members of the secondary in different ways but Sergio Brown is just awful. He almost gave up a bomb to Desean on what, his only play of the game lol.

Re: Adams released

So much for consistency in the secondary.

Re: Adams released

Perhaps Belichick may have a better use for the roster spot before this weekend. Bringing up Ventrone to play special teams is one obvious option.

Re: Adams released

It's not like he won't make it through waivers to get back to the PS.

Re: Adams released

interesting

i only realized when the play number breakdowns came out how much Adams actually played, and actually all I remember seeing was one completion on the man he was covering...i thought the guy was playing not just good, but great ball in the eagles game

this may be the largest surprise on the secondary for me the whole season

i could SWEAR the guy had a REALLY good game against the eagles.....

:bricks:

He had 3 tackles in Philly

Coverage won't show in the stats, you have to have a full view of the game's replay to really see his performance.

Re: Adams released

Julian Edelman, crotch-grabbing wide receiver, is dead.

Long live Julian Edelman, crotch-grabbing defensive back.

If McCourty, in particular, is healthy, then Adams isn't needed so much. Edelman is capable of spot duty at CB while offering way more versatility, and the additional roster spot can be used at another position of need (offensive line).

Hey, Johnnie one note. We get it. The Pats defense sucks. Think about posting something else. Your position is clear. Your thoughts have been recorded. Your opinion has been noted, Your assessment has been considered. Your postulation is apparent. Your judgement is transparent. Your point of view is obvious. I hope you get my inference, because I certainly have gotten yours

Re: Adams released

In this imperfect world a person is expected to be perfect I understand that..lesson learned time to move on from another situation

That is so deep!

Re: Adams released

That could be imperfect on the field just as much as it could be off it.

But that makes the story so much less interesting!:p
