DYAR Rankings for week 12

1. Tom Brady-272

Quote:
Over the course of the season, the best quarterback in football has been Aaron Rodgers. However, Rodgers at his best still can't touch Brady when the Patriots quarterback is on a roll. Brady's 272-DYAR day against Philadelphia was the best game for any passer this season. Brady also has the third-best game with 252 DYAR against San Diego (423 yards, three touchdowns) in Week 2; the fourth-best game with 234 DYAR against the Jets (329 yards, three touchdowns) in Week 10; and the sixth-best game with 224 DYAR against Miami (517 yards, four touchdowns) in Week 1. The fifth-best game was Michael Vick's 491-total yard day against San Francisco in Week 4. Can you guess who's in second place? We'll reveal the answer soon!
2. Drew Brees-261

Quote:
The answer is Drew Brees! His big game against the Giants was his third 200-DYAR game of the year .He also turned the trick in Week 1 against Green Bay and in Week 7 against Indianapolis. Brees and Brady are the only quarterbacks with multiple 200-DYAR games this year.

I have no idea what DYAR is, but since all other stats are pretty much equal, I'd have to go with Brees due to his completion %.

It's WAR for Football.

The all important 11 week comparison. Let's see what next week reveals...or better yet, let's just wait until week 17...or the ultimate test...

PS...at the end of the day, or the week or the season, stats are for losers.

Brees had a great game last night. He's right up there with Rogers and Brady, IMO. Whoever wins the SB is the best QB out of these three. !a, 1b, and 1c, with Brady as 1a based on toughness and experience in huge games. Can't wait until we play one.

I'll take the TD's over completions any day.

Again, the name of the game is to score.

Wins Above Replacement is a statistic that attempts to measure the "total value" of a player over a given season.
What if they replaced each other? Brady to Saints, Brees to Patriots

Breez higher completion %, 1 higher INT, 1 less TD, a few more yards. I'd say even except he's a bit more loaded with receiving options.

I'm going with TB for now, throwing it to smurfs at WR probably takes a toll on accuracy.

Actually YPA is a better yardstick because it accounts for BOTH percentage complete and yards gained.
Both are pretty close on both, but essentially, Bress completes more passes out of 100, but Bradys still add up to more yards.
ie Brees 70-100-802
Brady 66-100-862

I'll take 4 fewer completions to gain the extra 60 yards.

Brady would have more weapons while playing in a dome with a great crowd and Brees would have less weapons with horrible weather conditions:D

so let us act like losers and let the pats win games.

I doubt Brees or Rogers would be real keen on swapping...I think Brady could own the NFC. That OL in NO was well built to keep defenders off the undersized QB and keep his throwing lanes open. I doubt either would seemlessly adjust to locating undersized WR's who achieve little seperation, although both would probably be OK with the TE swaps...

The fact that Brees put up those kind of numbers against a Giants D that shut us out for an entire half tips the scale in favor of Drew (so far).

NE and NO have had only one common opponent so far...both hosting the NY Giants.
QBS had similar yardage vs G Men....but Brady had 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 1 Fumble.....Brees had 4 TDs, 0 INTs, 1 Rushing TD, 0 fumbles.

I was going to give Brees the nod based on accuracy...but playing indoors is such an advantage...and more importantly.....

Brees has lost to TWO CRAPPY teams... Saint Louis and Tampa......cardinal sin for elite QB to lose to horrible teams

Winner.....Brady

PS......hope Giants and Buffalo win a few more games so I can overlook two Patriots losses to two potentially bad teams

The Giants Defensive line was decimated with injuries. BTW they lost to the Rams and are horrible away from their dome.

Lets talk after TFB shreds the Colts defense.

Brees plays in a dome and overall i'd give the nod to Breesuses receivers.

Losing one player is hardly what I would call a decimation. Osi is one of their best players, but he is not the only linemen.
