Looks less and less likely the Pats will see Vick and Jackson this weekend. Also, Maclin is hobbled with an injury (he missed last week due to injury). There is a change the Pats will see an Eagles offense with Vince Young starting a t QB and Steve Smith and Riley Cooper starting at WR.

What's up with Desean?

From a football fan perspective, I'm actually hoping Mike Vick plays as I would like to see how we would stack up against him.

After all, Mike Vick was hurt and did not play against the Patriots in 2005 (although Matt Schaub did a good job).

Come to think of it, I think the one and only time he played against us is when he was alternating series with Chris Chandler in 2001.

Vick likely out for Sunday and other news from Philly

Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson both did not practice today in Philly. DRCromartie is definitely out. Vick is said by others to be likely out. Not clear about Jackson. Maclin hurting as well.

Still, after watching the Eagles take care of business against the Giants behind Young, I'm not so sure this is good news.

oops. just saw the other thread well down the page. Mods might want to merge.

Vince Young has never and will never be better than Mike Vick.

Which is why he's a career 75.1 QB rated guy with more turnovers than TDs.

If Maclin plays that's a huge inclusion for Philadelphia. He's been their second best player behind McCoy this season.

Interesting perspective. Is the easiest path to the division crown the only thing that matters? Or is a harder test for our uncertain defense a long term positive?
If the D could put in a solid effort against a Vick lead Eagles, it would be a real boost to their confidence. If the Eagles put up a big time score, the D's confidence may never be regained for this season.
If McCourty and Chung are back, I'd prefer to roll the dice and see if the D can put in a solid performance against Philly's A team.

Latest update from Philly: Vick, Maclin Still Day to Day | Eagletarian | 11/24/2011

The coordinators' press conferences were earlier than usual this Thanksgiving morning at NovaCare. As usual, much insight was gleaned.

Marty Mornhinweg said Michael Vick and Jeremy Maclin are day-to-day. Vick didn't practice yesterday, Maclin was limited and not terribly optimistic afterward. When practice began today, Maclin and Vick were wearing stocking caps instead of helmets, indicating they would not participate.

they are hurting like we are...but more on O..we are more on D

Personally I could care less about how we stack up right now, regular season means zilch. 2007 and 2010 we walked through some of the best the league had to offer in the regular season. In 2004 we go murdered by the only elite team we faced in the regular season, then beat a bunch of weak teams. How did those seasons turn out?

I'd rather our team have the best odds at winning and getting one more in the W column.

Friday's practice update for the Eagles:

Michael Vick, Nnamdi Asomugha Miss Eagles Practice, Vince Young Will Likely Start Against Patriots - NESN.com

Vick, Asomugha and Maclin all sat out Friday's practice, which would lead one to believe they are unlikely to play Sunday.

On the other hand Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie made his return to the practice field on Friday, his first practice since injuring his ankle against Arizona last Sunday.

Let 'em all play. They are all hurt and will get booed hard by the home fans if the Pats get up a score or two. The Eagles is not a resilient team in a very ornery town.

Vick has better tools to torch the Pats secondary but is also more susceptible to the resurgent pass rush that the front seven is now providing. The Pats 4-3 is now fully functional.

Tom Brady would love to be throwing into coverage with slowed and hobbled DBs who become pedestrian if not at full strength. Look for Hernandez to have a big game and for Welker to tear apart Cromartie or Asumogha if they try to cover him like Revis did.
