Anyone still have hope for this guy? I have been waiting for 3 years. He is getting outplayed by the undrafted Kyle Love

on a positive note.... we sign UFA's very well:rocker:

If only we hit better w/ our 2's:(

He will be a much maligned spare part getting barely any playing time until the final drive of the super bowl when he strip sacks Aaron Rodgers and the Patriots win the Superbowl!

Yeah he is what he is I think. At least Love is looking like a real player... coming along nicely ala Mike Wright (who also is pretty much done).

DEPTH.
Depth in the trenches is a good thing. Didnt we have a CFL alum on the Dline in last year's playoffs?

A path to happiness: Pretend that Kyle Love was drafted in the second round and Brace was undrafted.

See, Isn't that better?

We were in the playoffs last year?

No, this is another one of many "WTF?" Belichick picks that left most people scratching their heads, especially because it was such a reach (and, for some, so typical of his 'value' drafting strategy.).

This is just starting to look like one of the ones where most of us were right. :snob:

Is your hair black and slicked back? There is a major problem with that statement, as well as most of the posters who complain about BB picks. You ignore all the UDFA, late round wtf picks (Matt Cassell) and picks who leave the experts scratching thier heads (Logan Mankins). Julian Edelman says hi. Yes, BB has missed on some 2nd round picks and last week numerous posters had Brady as over-the-hill.

We've had about a 50% hit rate on #2s recently

Hits :
Gronkowski
Spikes (IMO)
Chung
Vollmer

Misses :
Cunningham (could still hit)
Brace (could still hit)
Butler
Wheatley

That's a perfectly fine hit rate. We'd all like 100% but 50% in the second round is about right.

Jesus, lighten up. It was a horrible pick, simple as that.

Not saying every other coach doesn't have their share of bad picks, just that BB's overall draft record in the early rounds hasn't exactly been stellar in recent years and the Brace pick exemplifies his trading back and hoarding picks approach that has left us devoid of some high impact players on defense. And what do UDFA successes have to do with anything I said?

Give him time..yes maybe a "bad" pick but Wilfork wasnt who he was for awhile into his career

Baloney!

New England Patriots: Vince Wilfork

2004 (16/6, 3/1)

•Played in all 16 games as a rookie with six starts at nose tackle and played in each of the Patriots' three postseason games, including a start in Super Bowl XXXIX.
•Led all Patriots rookies with 57 tackles (35 solo) including two sacks.
•Collected his first career sack (10/3).
•Helped the Patriots defense rank sixth in the NFL against the run.
•Started at nose tackle and recorded seven tackles (4 solo) in his NFL debut against Indianapolis (9/9) and preserved the Patriots' lead by recovering a fumble caused by Eugene Wilson in the fourth quarter.
•Started at nose tackle and registered five tackles (2 solo) and collected his first career sack on Drew Bledsoe vs. Buffalo (10/3).
•Finished second on the team with a season-high 10 tackles (7 solo), including a sack and a pass defensed against Miami (10/10).
•Collected three tackles and a fumble recovery against Miami (12/20).
•Started at nose tackle in the Patriots' victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX.

It doesnt look good for Brace but ultimately I dont see reason to call him a bust yet and dont expect him to ever be Wilfork i see him as a #2 Big Body run stuffer which he can still be.
You realize that Ron Brace was picked only nineteen spots lower in the draft than Vince Wilfork.

Yes and 19 spots in the early parts of the draft is a HUGE difference.
