PFT is also reporting it:

Kyle Orton is done in Denver.

Orton, the quarterback who was handed the Broncos’ starting job in training camp only to lose it to Tim Tebow after five games, has been waived today, an NFL source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Would he go back to Chi because they could use him.

Thats what i was thinking. The bears need a QB.

it's a very interesting move. KC needs to put in a claim.

With Orton, they'd have had a 14-0 halftime lead last night.

How did they not get a draft pick for that guy with all the teams that had QBs go down recently? Seems like a no-brainer for Chicago.

Because the trade deadline was weeks ago.

Could he also go to Miami?

They were looking to trade for him earlier in the year.

This doesn't seem to make sense. Why cut him? With the style Tebow plays you would have to think there is significant risk of injury.

Damn! I initially thought it read Ocho was waived!

Just wishful thinking on my part.

What does Denvah gain by waiving Orton?
The likelihood of a running QB getting injured is high (q.v. Vick). Maybe Tebow's backup is up to the task. Does saving his game amortized salary save them that much when chicago, KC, Houston, Miami (Jets should) pick him up and pay him?

EDIT: Brady Quinn at backup! OMG!

If he isn't in Houston, KC or Chicago this weekend I will be shocked!

He isn't a bad player, just not great! But is better than Leinart, Palko and Hanie!

Also, if Tebow gets injured, would you want Brady Quinn as your QB?

I was thinking that, but Matt Moore's played well. Orton would likely slip past Miami.

me happy:)

I really am happy... Orton was their best chance
at QB to own our D:rocker:

Yeah Miami has been clicking as of late, idk if they want to mess with that....but in all honesty, at the end of the day, who the he'll knows...

I'm gonna say either Chitown or KC.....Houston doesn't really have the cap room per NFL Network.

Don't tell anyone in New York but the NY Jets sure could use a quarterback!

I like the fact that being a legend of a franquise allow you to do anything. Elway's first six months have been terrible and comes away with nothing of criticism.

Kansas City is currently 2 games out of the AFC West. They should put in a claim on Orton.

Horrible schedule coming up but the NFL in 2011 is weird.

Typical stoopid move for the Donks, best thing that ever could have happened for Kyle Orton.

He's an upgrade to about a dozen starters in the NFL today, IMO. He can start, and can win games.

Denver will come to rue this decision.
