IMO they will NEED Chung and Spikes back..hopefully Mccourty as well. I know Eagles suck but they are the one team left that can turn it on at any time. All depends on if Vick is playing

I hope Vick plays

Vince Young looked like a better quarterback

The first half patriots today would likely lose big to Vince Young.

Also, at this point, Miami does NOT suck. We are much better than they are, but they are much better than lots of teams.

Agreed. I'm getting tired of watching our first half play. It's the same game plan every week lately. I wish O'Brien would start off taking what the defense would give us, as opposed to forcing throws with no protection and getting TB sacked. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with playing small ball.

We'll need another big day from the TE's. Hopefully ridley will see some action against their pitiful LB's

It's funny cause in 2009 it was the exact opposite. Came out guns blazing then mediocrity/almost losing at the end.

I think it will be the Eagles's superbowl. They're going to come out firing. We just have to weather that first onslaught.

this is going to be the toughest game we play the rest of the season. we need our defense to weather whatever the eagles throw at us long enough for Brady/the offense to get into gear and put the smackdown on them

I hope Vick, Maclin, and D-Jax are healthy. If they are, it should be a hell of a fun game to watch. If Vick was able to go, I'd put him in for the first three quarters and let Vince Young close it out in the 4th.

assuming the Eagles can play lights out like they have in the past, this will be a real test for the New England D.

thats not B.O.B doing that it's Brady i know gronk and welker are two of the best in the NFL and you want to get the ball to them but come playoff time teams are going to Double welker and Gronk like KC did tonight and if Brady dose not spred the ball around and gets a few fast 3 and outs like tonight that Deffense will not hold up vs a real QB

I agree. I think that the win last night really rejuvinated them, and they are technically only 2 games back, yet they feel somewhat confident since they hold the tie-breakers over both of the teams they're looking up at, having beaten both of them.

For a team who has had the lead in 9 of 10 games in the 4th quarter, they have a horrible record, of course.

But if you throw the record out the window (like you should, as I suspect Belichick does every single week) Philly is an incredibly tough matchup for our defense. They run very effectively, they have an experienced QB who can scramble, throw on the run, and throw an absolute bullet downfield. Their downfield threats in Jackson and Maclin are superb, maybe the best we've seen all year. They have a ton of weapons.

Defensively, they have a very capable defensive pass rush, and with Samuel back there, I suspect that Brady will have to be careful. I expect that the theory of successfully running the ball started tonight, and will continue into Sunday's game with Philly.

I for one, am not even close to confident about anything regarding Sunday's game in Philly. It will be quite a test in my opinion. If not, we have a helluva better team than I ever thought we had. I think it has the potential to be a very troubling game if they do not fix some of the offensive protection problems, and get some healthy guys back.

Did you not see what the Chiefs were doing out there? They were bracketing Welker right off the line, and they were blitzing the hell out of the line (Vollmer was getting beaten like a rented mule). Since the team doesn't have an outside receiver that can beat decent man coverage, the Chiefs were able to contain Brady until the O-line was able to get a read on what was coming and buy time for the receivers to get loose. Brady's accuracy was off early, too. Once those problems were dealt with, the game plan was fine.

That's not on BOB. That's on the players.

I agree. Like another poster mentioned, I would be fine with more small ball, as coming away with points early will be a must against the elite opponents.

As far as spreading the ball around, the problem remains to be--to who?

I like the screens, RB flat passes, etc..combined with some sort of running game, but we still have to figure out how to stretch the field on some level, even as a decoy to better open up some underneath routes. Until we can consistantly beat press man coverage, I will have my doubts about the real strength of this team.

They need to incorporate more options somehow, or find a way to get someone else involved. Completing 2 or 3 passes total to actual WR's will not do it come playoff time, at least not if we want to win more than a game.

Yes he certainly was, at least from my perspective too. That is troubling. The overall effectiveness of the offensive line seems to be lacking in some very important ways.

Now the unnecessary injury to Light...it is not the strength that I hoped it to be.

EDIT: although I suspect that the problem with the WR's being able to get open vs. man coverage effectively enough goes hand in hand on some level with the offensive line protection; all the more reason that we need to address that issue somehow (not that I am suggesting I have a solution)

i think Branch Hernandez and the running game are going to have to show up big time in the playoffs
