I'll likely get an OCEAN of Schytte for this, but I have to say it:

There is NOTHING more condescending...more disrespectfull...more insulting...than PITY.

What is the MOST insulting thing a Coach can do to his rival Coach??

Call Off The Dogs.

NOTHING says "You and your team are not WORTHY of playing us." like Calling Off The Dogs.

As is often the case, 99.9999% have it BACKWARDS.

I like not giving up at the end of games. But you have to be careful. The 49ers lost Josh Morgan for a pretty long time this season after running up the score against the Bucs. But yes nothing wrong with getting Vereen his reps.

I don't believe in running up the score, it's simply not letting up. Not our problem if you can't stop us.

I don't call a running play on 4th & goal from the 7, running up the score.

You can never be up by too much. Ask the Eagles (4th quarter).

It's the Offense's job to score touchdowns.

If they dont like it man up and stop it .Simple as that

...and a beaten foe's responsibility to let the clock run  They got what they deserved.

Correct. Running up the score is kicking a field goal. This BS is so effing old it has cobwebs attached to it. Mike "the @$$hole" Ditka two years ago castigated BB and the Pats for running up the score, while conveniently forgetting that in the '86 SB with a huge lead in the 4th quarter he ran Porky Pig the DL-man for a TD with a Hall of Fame running back on the bench. What a phony, sanctimonious d-bag.

kicking a field goal would have been cheap, giving them a chance to stop us on a forth and goal was a classy move IMO.

better chance at stopping a 7 yard run than preventing a field goal.

losers call it running up the score, winners call it beating the living SH@T out of a team.

"Look. We're trying to play situational football, here."

The offense struggled mightily at times, not just tonight, but over the past 4 or 5 games.

How are they going to continue to try and get better, iron out their wrinkles, and adjust to what looks they're getting if they don't continue to play in gametime situations?

FWIW, I had to work :(, so I heard the end of it on the radio.

Anyhow: Boomer was talking about this, and he said (paraphrasing) that the Chiefs brought it on themselves by calling timeouts.

I wish they had tried another dropkick.

Actually ~ though I can't speak for anyone else ~ I was making more of a general philosophical statement.

It came back to mind because of the game, mind you...

But it wasn't game-specific.

The one area where I will agree with you is continuing to allow important starting players on the field in absolute meaningless situations. In that aspect, I do not think that it has any benefit whatsoever.

As far as running up the score, I think that it was an opportunity to continue to try and get Vereen some reps without having to worry about his blitz pickups and blocking. In that instance, it's good to see Vereen familiarizing himself with not only being on the actual field, but hearing specific running calls, hitting specific holes, etc.

I would have however, put in many backup players. Light's injury will likely be costly, and we hopefully dodged a bullet with Arrington. I just don't see much reason for some of those players continuing to play. It's not like they are working on too much...now the offense, that's another story. In my opinion, they almost used the last quarter as an extended practice at times. The Chiefs effectively almost 100% shut out Welker entirely, and Brady only completed several passes to actual WR's. That side of the ball will likely still gain something from continuing drives, but as we saw the negative effect may be horrible in the injury to Light.

Maybe Haley should of stopped taking timeouts during the Patriots final drive.

He was basically begging for us to score. He's a submissive one.

Would have liked to see Brady throw it more.

Boomer was right...we at the game said "WTF?????" when Haley started calling T.O.'s...what the hell was he doing???..practicing clock management??..moron...really...nobody likes the guy anyway...I can see why
