I'd pay good money to have Parcells back in the division. Cowher would be interesting too because I think his head would explode getting beat by the Pats twice a year. All that being said I don't think either will be coach.

It's really hard to imagine Parcells starting over again with a team with a fairly empty cupboard (IMO anyway).

Cowher - whatever, he's a JAC (Just a Coach) IMO. Nothing special there.

They also said, that Cowher would want the Pats job, because its still unclear about Belichick.. I would not want Bill Cowher coaching this team.... No way... Right now all I want is Bill Belichick, and no one else..

I'll be very relieved if we get past the coaching changes part of the offseason and Belichick is still our HC. Not that I think he won't be, but I'll just be relieved when it's all done.

The situation is a win-win right now. Belichick has a team with more than enough talent and draft picks and Kraft has a great coach. I can't believe either one would be stupid enough to break this up but stranger things have happened.

I want the tuna. Mangini, Tuna and BB in the same division.

Parcells would be awesome to have in the division, and there might be something in it for him: he'd probably get final say on all football decisions without Jerry Jones' meddling.

I don't know what's in it for Cowher, he seems to have a good situation in Pitt. Plus, he's under contract through the 2007 season so unless he was released from it, he couldn't coach another NFL team until the 08-09 season. My guess is either he goes back to the Steelers, or he's out of coaching next year.

The Belichick rumor is just assanine. He has the ideal situation here, what could he possibly get somewhere else that he can't have with the Patriots? Him and Kraft have a great relationship, they have the same ideas about how an organization should be run and should present itself, and he has Tom Brady. I can't imagine he'd leave for more money (it's not like Kraft wouldn't match any offer to keep him), and what else is there? Belichick is a man who likes structure and he's built it for himself in New England, he won't leave unless a real reason comes up.

This is probably a very, very long shot, but how would this look.

Patriots: Belichick
Jets: Mangini
Dolphins: Parcells
Bills: Crennell or Weis

Now, that is a division if I ever saw one.
I was thinking the same thing for the Bills but I think by the time they got rid of Jauron Parcells would be done.

I think it's highly likely Cowher is angling for a change of scenery and finances, while I doubt the other two are.

I think Tuna is done, and would have stayed in Dallas another season IF things had gone a little better with the transition to Romo and he thought he could get Jones to do his bidding including ridding him of the TO sideshow. But I think between his defense just collapsing and Romo rapidly morphing into his idol Favre, and TO getting chippy again, he will just want out.

The continued BB fantasies are just wishful thinking/failure to remotely understand him on the part of most media - and I think they just project their inability to decipher his persona back onto him in frustration. He cares about legacy - Saban's concern was day to day perception. I doubt Bill would feel the need to go to Miami to prove Saban was a wussy boy branch of the tree, and he knows Wayne's track record - that team could be sold any time. Just like I don't think he has that Parcells like need to prove it was him and not them by taking repeated flyers at re-creating previous success elsewhere. I don't even think Parcells has that anymore - being in Dallas at a time in his life when some of his closest friends including his brother passed on and he's feeling his mortality has wrung it out of him.

If they ever just listened to BB they would hear a very different kind of guy who queitly credits everyone else from his owner to the equipment guy because he understands that to succeed in this cap era that's what it takes. How many HC's with full authority say they couldn't do what their VP of personnel does...most just point at that guy as a scape goat when they or their players fail to do their job. I don't think you will see him leave here until we get one for the thumb, with all of them on his watch. He loves to teach winning football concepts to bright young players, and he turns the roster over enough here that he has several new students each season and essentially every season he is winning with a different team. He doesn't need to physically relocate to accomplish that.

And if he did the middle class concept would go with him because it is something he believed in before Kraft did as some of the earlier deals he had to navigate away from proves to everyone but the Michael Felgers in the media. He left the NYJ not just to get out from under Tuna's shadow, but to get out from under a looming cap mess that would have likely continued to careen out of his control there with the puppet master handling the shopping for a weak willed and impressionable owner and the media pointing fingers at the schmuck HC when it all blew up.

Hey, I beat them to the Cowher story, on this forum here in the Dolphins Coaching thread. I believe I was the ONLY one to mention Cowher's name.

But, if he does land the coach job with the Fins, please remember , when we play them at Gillette, be sure to stand upwind from him, or you are sure to be showered. :D

Actually no, NEM, that was me about 4 hours earlier in that thread - and I was commenting on their speculation that Cowher could be holding off on his decision in light of Saban's. And how the current Miami OC and DC had both been Cowher assistants. And then there were comments from several others, but whose keeping score... ;)

great Parcels in the division coaching would mean Culpepper cut and Bledsoe brought in - Mikiemo83 likes that

Only other coach besides Belichick I'd be happy with is Jeff Fisher.

I no longer care what Parcells does. I can't see Cowher going straight to another team. I think he means it when he says he wants to take some time off and be with his family. I see him back on the sidelines in a year.

I dunno mikiemo, I think Tuna and Drewpie filed for divorce right after that half time adjustment Tuna make following potentially Drew's last career INT. Word out of Dallas is Tuna couldn't find Drew in a pinch now if Romo malfunctioned and he needed him.

If for some reason Belichick left, Mike Shanahan would be the coach I'd want to replace him.

Are you kidding me? After last week we'd need a lot more roster turnover than normal before he walked through the locker room door.

Parcells has said from day one when he took the Dallas job that it would be his last. He's repeated that a lot. He's 65 or 66 and has had heart problems. I don't see him taking a coaching job after Dallas.

These coaches burn out in the pressure cooker. You are right, Cower knows he needs a timeout for a season or two...

I know I was just dreaming of a couple of old washed up fools getting it back together and the Kraft organization kicking some sand in their face

Yeah, and when he retired from the Jets he said repeatedly, "I've coached my last game". That and a buck will get you a (very small) cup of coffee.

PUKE.

My first choice would have been Saban but I guess that's out the window now. Weiss and Ferentz I like from the Belichick tree.

Shanahan. Gruden. Urban Meyer. Andy Reid. They're the other ones I like.
