Hey all. Long-time watcher, first-time poster. I'm wondering if anyone else who posts here lives in Baltimore or its vicinity. I'm a little sick of being a Patriots fan in a sea of purple, and would like to see who else shares my predicament.

Any chance of a meetup for this weekend's game? PM me.

Thanks!

Welcome!! Another Pats fan in the Baltimore area, great.
What's a matter? Can't stand another minute of Ravens sports talk from Anita Marks or Nestor's crew? I'm about ready to puke and have taken to listening to music for the ride home. OMG, not that.
In some regards, I hope the Colts lose this weekend, so the Pats come to M&T and shut up these Ravings (spelling intentional).
There are a few Pats fans in the Baltimore, at least by my count at BWI on game days. I flew up for the Texans game and there were 11 other Pats fans flying to Providence to go to the game, on just my flight.

Hi. There's a bunch of people from the DC area here... Im in Gainesville VA... like an hour away from Baltimore.

though in DC i often get shut out from Pats games due to crappy Ravens games.

If you're willing to drive you can check out murphy's irish pub in alexandria.

im a pats season ticket holder that lives on the Eastern Shore... i get up for a few games... (not this weekend though)

i plan on going to M &T if the CHiefs beat the Colts and the Pats win...

anyone interested in getting tickets?

I live about 20-25 minutes from M&T Bank Stadium (Severn, MD), so I get all of the Ravens hoopla here.

I've been a proud Pats fan since '93. I would love to go to M&T if the Pats and Chiefs win, but no way in hell can I afford the price of a ticket.

I've been doing some scouting on Ravens playoff tickets on Ebay and other sites (not to jinx our game Sunday though) and ticket brokers are really jacking up the prices. The Sun even ran an article about it:

My guess is that the Ravens haven't been to the playoffs in a few years and the opposing QB will likely be Brady or Manning so that's a premium.

I hope to get a 'peer-to-peer' sale at the last minute (should the game occur) or perhaps tickets will be released a couple of days before the game.

I live just north of Rockville.

Most of my derision is aimed at Danny Snyder ruining a once great franchise.

Outside of that, Brian Billick chasing publicity at every turn is always fun to laugh. The man loves to see himself on TV!

I too have been looking at Playoff tickets on ebay and they are outright ridiculous. I want to go if the Pats come but I can't justify 500 bucks on a pair of nosebleed seats. I thought about tailgating outside of the stadium and watching the game in the Parking lot.

Directv and Sunday ticket will solve that problem for you. I haven't missed a Pats game since 96 when I moved away from New England.

I'm thinking more in terms of watching this weekend's game vs the Jets with fellow Patriots fans rather than alone :)

If you don't mind being the NFL's whore then more power to you. I do.

I refuse to get directtv just because they pay the NFL a boatload of money. screw directtv and screw the nfl. they (the NFL) somehow make it even worse by wryly (and unapologeticly) answering all questions about game availability with "get a dish." telling me where I should get my tv service is extremely arrogant, and treating your customers like that is the kind of stuff that brings down businesses on top.

MLB allows me to get sox games on any cable company or online. The NFL tells me to switch cable companies. Who really wants my business?

For me it was a no brainer. Cable service in my area was horrible when we first moved to MD. They twice did not show up for their scheduled install. After the first time, I called them back and threatened going to satellite. They said they would be out the next morning. Of course, no show and I have been with Directv since. My decision for directv was not based on football, but on the poor response I received from Comcast. The Sunday ticket was a nice bonus in my opinion.

Same here I have never had a cable company treat me as well as Dirctv has. If you go beyond that I can't think of a cable company that has given me better picture quality and I have had a lot (Adelphia, State Cable (maine), Time Warner, Cox and Comcast). Directv's customer service has dropped a bit over the past few years but never down to the standard of the cable companies.

Question for you Directv guys. I've had it for about 5 yrs. I just bought a big-screen Sony LCD but don't have Hi-Def yet. Our locals don't even broadcast in it up here. So, there just aren't enough channels to justify the cost. Two questions.

1. How many games on NFL Ticket are in Hi-Def? Channels 704-715. Do you have to pay extra?

2. When Sox/Bruins are on NESN. I get Centre Ice and MLB Extra Innings. Are the games in HI-DEF? My buddy got it. And he has Centre Ice and said Directv only gives one or two games a night in Hi-Def. Around channels 70-99.

1. It varies Sunday to Sunday usually 7 or 8. Directv shows every game that is broadcast in HD by the networks so they are limited by CBS (mostly) and FOX. It does cost and additional $99 but I have received a credit for that over the past two years. B!tching works with them.

2. That is correct, the only teams that Directv will broadcast in HD regularly for those sports are your local teams. If you lived in NE you would get those games in HD when they are available from NESN.

I am in New Mexico right now.But will be moving back to Baltimore(Dundalk) in May..I can't wait,Im originally from East Baltimore(Perry Hall)..So It will be good to come home...

I currently live in Rockville, but I am moving to Hagerstown/Frederick area.

Question- been around Baltimore's stadium? It could be worth the ticket price to NOT be outside of the stadium :)

I have to say I grew up in VA, and as soon as I was 16, started going up to Memorial Stadium once a year to see the Pats at the closest stadium where they regularly appeared, to play the Colts in Baltimore.

Murphy's in Alexandria is a Patriots bar... I dont know if there is also one in Baltimore. You might seek out the guy FROM that bar here, screen name is MurphysPub or Murphys something... he is a regular poster.

Anyway, I feel your pain. Good luck... but I ain't drivin' to Baltimore!
