Well, here it is, tons of Pats at in the top 5 at their position, a few surprises too.

A look at the Patriots that are currently ranked in the top 5 among AFC balloting:

Quarterback: Tom Brady (1st, 537,780 votes)
Wide receiver: Wes Welker (1st, 430,945)
Tight end: Rob Gronkowski (1st, 334,909), Aaron Hernandez (3rd, 87,108)
Offensive tackle: Matt Light (2nd, 116,199)
Guard: Logan Mankins (1st, 130,982), Brian Waters (4th, 73,691)
Center: Dan Connolly (5th, 68,628)
Defensive end: Andre Carter (2nd, 136,251)
Defensive tackle: Vince Wilfork (3rd, 110,704)
Cornerback: Kyle Arrington (3rd, 148,889)
Strong Safety: Patrick Chung (5th, 17,995)
Kicker: Stephen Gostkowski (5th, 21,569)
Punter: Zoltan Mesko (5th, 17,614)
Special teamer: Matthew Slater (4th, 22,520)

Bolded a few surprises, to me at least. Arrington has been solid, but I think a lot of his votes come from being tied for 1st in interceptions. Chung has missed some time, but he is a solid safety too, are the AFC Safeties really that far and few between? I like him but I'm not sure he's #3. (after typing, remembering voting is broken into SS and FS). And lastly, Connolly, I guess 5th isn't too high in voting, but that's pretty impressive what peoples opinions of him are considering he's been a career backup before last season and only starting due to injuries.

Guards are just guards, same as Tackle, correct (no left/right)? In that case I guess I'm OK with Mankins 1 and Waters 4, maybe they should even be reversed this season, but Mankins' reputation, especially after all the press he got last season and during the lockout will probably keep him at #1 for a long time.

Based on votes right now, the Pats have 8 Pro Bowlers, plus two more who are the first alternate!

GRONK is the best TE in the game right now, and I'm glad to see that the public recognizes that fact. :snob:

Has there ever been two TE from the same team to make a Pro Bowl?

Is it 2 Tight End's per team ? If it is we need to Hernandez there!

I have to agree. Gates is living off of his reputation, he's been a non-factor due to injuries the past season or 2 and Gonzalez is like 47.

It's between Gronk and Jimmy Graham right now, IMO. I, of course, would take Gronk.

Not even a question a to me. The scary thing is if you listen to BBs presser from last week he talked about how he didnt play his last year in college and that his game has improved so much from year one to year two after the year off and that he thinks the ceiling is still a ways to go for him (not that BB would ever come out and say a guy has reached the ceiling).

Wow, this probowl voting just made me realize how crappy most of the other qb's in the nfc are.

The thought of GRONK getting even better must depress every DB in the league. :singing:

The voting seems a little strange. No offense to Arrington, but the 3rd highest votes in the AFC for CB's ? Are the fans dillusional ? Gronk the #1 TE I understand, but Arrington really isn't a Pro Bowl CB.

Well, it's most likely because he's tied for 1st in the league in interceptions.

People are looking at the amount of INT's I would imagine.

Revis Island, Champ Bailey, and Kyle Arrington! :D

some deserve it but there are also some irrelevants.. remember meriweather made 2 or 3 pro bowls during his time here..

Is Wilfork classed as a DLineman or a DB??? 2 INTs :D

Doesn't seem right to have to vote for someone for fullback.
